If the 'upper' wind doesn't change, we will have the Volcanic Ash this evening overhead Brussels.

According to the VRT citing Eurocontrol, the airspace of Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany will be closed this afternoon as well.

Brussels Airport has just issued this news release:
Cloud of volcanic ash disturbs air traffic - 15/04/2010

An ash cloud from a volcanic eruption in Iceland has made air traffic impossible in large parts of Scandinavia and the UK. As a result several flights had to be cancelled.

Chances are that Brussels Airport too will be forced to suspend all flights in the course of the day.

More details will follow.

... the most important parts are accessible. The news section, and the arrivals and departures section. Granted, they might have kept the restaurants and shops section available, as it seems a lot of people are gonna spend a lot of time at the airport.

I think offering a limited site with all the essential info is the best option iso investing in extra bandwidth that'll go unused most of the time anyway.

Brussels Airlines has decided to cancel all of its flights for the remainder of the day with immediate effect, a total of over 50 flights.

For tomorrow, heavy disruptions are foreseen as well... :(
