OO-DNX?

Post by lucaberta »

Hi all,

does anyone know more about OO-DNX?

A virtual radar spotter reported a flight heading west towards London at FL300 with callsign BEL6C today. What's interesting is the Mode S code, hex 4419D8, which is normally assigned to Austria.

Another source reported this to be OO-DNX, unknown type of a/c.

Is this a Mode S configuration error, or what? Does an OO-DNX machine exist? Could not find traces of it with Google.

Ciao, Luca

No, OO-DNX does not exist.

OO-DNX non c'e, or at least I could find no more traces of it than you could. So it does sound like mode S gone shaky indeed - or perhaps the spotter's equipment had a glitch?

Thanks for the info and link to the belgian aircraft register, very useful.

Does anyone know what segment might use the BEL6C callsign? Over London westbound at FL300, it's either Dublin or some transatlantic destination...

Wild guess: Haiti relief? But we read these to have BAF... flight numbers, so it seems unlikely.
Then again, FL300 seems low to me for a transatlantic flight, wouldn't these rather be between FL 350 and 420?

Well, if it's a relief flight, which it could very well be, then maybe the load will permit only an initial climb to a lower FL, then as fuel is burnt a higher FL can be reached.

Dank U/merci/thanks for the help!

Hi,

was a miscode 4491D8 (not 4419D8 !). Correct code is 449158 which is OO-DJX.

Hope it helps to clear things, so no new plane ;-)

ciao Luca,

nice to see you here ,-)
long time....

yesterdays (26/01) flight BEL6C to EGBB was flown by 4491D8, confirmed by multiple internet ADS-B sources and our mode S radar stations.
So 4419D8 was incorrect for sure.

Yesterday was the first time this mode S address 4491D8 was seen - so it could be a miscode after maintenance 449158 -> 4491D8.
My own info confirms OODJX (449158) as Skystef already mentioned.

will pass the info to Brussels Airlines.

Thanks for spotting it.
