Well, everybody follows his own logic of course.OO-JFP wrote:If I follow your logic they ought to shut down PAX Ops at LGG as well. Less than 10 PAX flights a day and paid by cargo operations (or is it the Walloon gvnmt?).by JOVAN » 21 Jun 2009 11:20 am

When is the new LCC terminal due to open? Do we know which airlines will operate from it, to where and how often? Do Brussels Airport have any guarantees that easyJet will expand their network from Brussels?
We do not know which airlines will enjoy the LCC, but lets make a list
Atlas Blue
Blue Air
Clickair
Flybe
Easyjet
Myair
skyeurope
vueling
Windjet
On an average day, we will reach maybe 10 outgoing flights??
Some of above airlines will not exist anymore by the end of the year.
Not all of them will/can move to the LCT.
I stick to my prediction: this LCT will be a failure (paid for by PAX and airlines using the expensive part of the airport).

LGG comes from nothing and has no choice but to go in that segment.
With limited success (compared to CRL)
BRU's "strategy" has always been a "noch mossel, noch vis" approach:
- not favouring a hub system (remember when things got really difficult in 2001 for SN (and SR), the bright man at the top of BRU came up with the idea of introducing a (high) transfer tax;
- pier A is perfect for an intensive Hub-operation, but is not used at all as such (also because of SN's schedules and limited ambitions)
- SR and ZRH built successfully and skillfully a new HUB, with frequent connections and a substantial long-haul network;
- BRU has failed to convince its regular, high paying customers (BATA) about the advantages of the LCT;
- BRU will compete head-to-head with CRL and lose the battle of the Low Cost.
- most LowCost airlines on the list of potential users are weak and might not be in business anymore next year ;
If possible, give me your logic and arguments why the BRU LCT would eventually be a success????
