Since last winter, 9W had scaled down the route to an A330-200.
Ah, finally a 77W back at BRU!

Anyone know of an equipment change with Hainan? They seem to be sending their 767's again, as from tomorrow (Sun December 13) through next week at least (haven't checked further).

They will sent the A330 back from January... Maybe a downgrade because of low demand around the holidays!

Interesting article in anna.aero about easyJet in Lyon and their new link from Lyon to Brussels starting this week. It shows the full schedules of the 3 aircraft based there (after introduction of new destinations BRU and EDI), each of them completing 4 rotations per day.

I'd be very interested to see their loads on the LYS-BRU flights over the next few weeks and months...

Although the route sees a lot of frequency from SN (4 times daily) and AF, the loads aren't very high and in fact the route is aimed at connecting traffic since point-to-point pax are rather few.

I have a hard time seeing Easyjet fill an A319 up every day with merely point to point pax on this route, especially with such an inconvenient schedule as they have, unless they can create a whole new market for their flights: pax currently not flying on the route yet, but then I don't know if LYS is such an attractive destination for Belgians?

IMHO they have seen SN's frequencies and guessed there would be enough market to steel away, but they will have quite a surprise then! More than half of them are connecting and many/most of those doing point-to-point are day return flights or flex tickets...

Would not be surprised to learn they will drop this route next winter already.... On the other hand, with LCC, you never know. For some weird reason, LCC seem to be able to attract enough pax even on the weirdest of routes and with the weirdest of schedules, as if people don't mind flying to places they don't really want to go to, at times they don't need to go there at all, for as long as it is cheap to do so!

And now... I guess THAT a lot of that kind of people is on luchtzak! ;)
Just fly because it's cheap enough to do so..
( but for the same reason MXP-SXF are much more attractive )

I'll fly just for one day to GVA for having the A319 on my list!
We'll see what to do in GVA..

But to fill that many planes... to that destination I think it's a bit to much even for weird people
as us..
You can't make the needed money with it to keep that destination even as LCC.

And if it could I think MOL/FR had done it already !

Seems AA has adjusted the frequency for flight 88/9 (ORD-BRU-ORD). Service is now operating 6 weekly (no ORD departure on TUE/BRU arrival WED).

Edit: seems to be OK again as from next week. Disregard above message, apparently only this week.

Would be strange if it was like that. Maybe from the new summer season but now. :P
