Will LH keep their number of flights between Germany and Istanbul? Or is this "just" an exchange of flights between two STAR partners?

Good question? The announcement doesn't mention STAR partnership or quote LH flight numbers. They quote TK flight numbers mostly extra flights to their current weekend flights. If I hear anything new to this I will let you know. Thanks.

If you add all the other German destinations that are served by THY ( NUE,HAJ,CGN, ) you reach a wopping 225 flights on THY alone...that is without taking into acount seasonal special flights into more than 6 different Turkish airports like Ankara,Adana,Izmir,Mersin or Dalaman..
Add the flights operated by German Low-costs and Charter-flights,LH flights, one should reach in certain weeks not far from 450 flights !!!!

Impressive ..
I am wondering if the strategy of offering high frequencies with narrow-bodies is opportune in this case..
Why not rather use wide bodies (A330-300 for instance) at lower frequencies ?
Just a question ..
Moreover using the A330-300 would offer the advantage of combining cargo ops.

Actually in summer-season many of the A320 or 737 flights are operated by wide-bodies-but that is not systematically done.

Well looks a lot but might be not so surprising if you see the number of people with Turkish origin living all over Germany (several millions - Berlin is one of the biggest Turkish towns if you count just the people of Turkish origin - so there is a big market)

THY Board has told to media that THY intends to launch scheduled services between Eskisehir (AOE) and Brussels (BRU) this year. I understand they will release more detailed information later on. :D

Probably a seasonal flight? SN is also going to fly back to Eskisehir during summer.

Well, I guess it is more likely it will perform those flights instead of resting over night in Brussels ... So it will be an evening flight from Istanbul (?) and an early morning return flight from BRU to Istanbul and inbetween they will now perform the Eskisehir flights ?!?
