Sat 01 Nov : two long delays for JAF

Post by LX-LGX »

Two Jetairfly-flights are delayed quite long today:

JAF502, incoming from Cancun/Varadero: ETA was 06h30 - now delayed till 02h05 (767)

JAF6003, outgoing to Malaga: ETD was 06h15 - flight took off at 18h10 (737)
JAF6004, incoming from Malaga: ETA was 12h40 - now delayed till 00h55 (737)

Are both delays related ?

Well, the JAF502 Cancun/Varadero isn't in Brussels Airport' Flight Info anymore. Could this mean that OO-TUC is in serious trouble in VAR?

Other delays (exlcuding those, less then 4 hours):

JAF6632, SSH-BRU: ETA 02h25, delayed till 09h10 (737)

JAF7628, SSH-BRU: ETA 14h20, delayed till 23h35 (767)

brusselsairport, if PH-MCG (Martinair 767) indeed has been sent to Varadero Saturday evening, JAF502 should be back in BRU on Monday morning, not Tuesday morning.

Perhaps it was an input problem for BRU's website?

PH-MCG/TUB 502 is about to depart VRA for CUN at this moment, but is not scheduled to return to BRU until tuesdaymorning at 0530lt. I would suspect that is because of legal crewrest requirements.

The Flemish newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws now reports that hundred Jetair-passengers are blocked in TLV since last Thursday. Added by another hundred since Sunday. They're awaiting their flight to LGG.

Article (sorry, Dutch only):

And today's JAF103 to MUB/POP is delayed from 06h05 to 17h40...

Well, the Ben Gurion website now indicates that JAF7162 has finally left for LGG at 20h06 local (= 19h06 Belgian time).

JAF 7162 LIEGE 03/11 00:35 20:06 3 DEPARTED A 24-27

TLV search engine for departures:
http://www.iaa.gov.il/Rashat/en-US/Airp ... rDFlight=D

edited after posting : has finally left for BRU ... has been corrected into ... LGG...

Message for VTM (Flemish television):

arrival JAF502 is now confirmed for Tuesday, 06h50. Almost 3 days too late indeed.

So after all, it seems that did not sent a Martinair 767 to Varadero/Cancun, but just waited till OO-TUC was fixed.

Hello

It's really a pity that the OO-TUC is again in some bad publicity after it had gone very well for a wile. I'm curious what whas the problem this time.

Best regards, Yannick ;)

From what I've heard, the OO-TUC had a problem during pushback. One of the main wheel broke. The whole wheel, brake and tire were u/s !! A team was sent and repaired it on Monday.

Odd. According to my info JAF502/PH-MCG arrived in BRU this morning at 0647lt with 213 pax on board

It must be more than just that. Replacing a wheel takes about half an hour, same thing for a brake assembly. Perhaps a wiring fault or hydrolic line damage?

Negative, the Martinair did in fact fly the passengers back. Odd conclusion you make out of that story...

The Martinair 767 left for Varadero on Saturday evening, so it could have been back in BRU already on Sunday evening - or at the latest on Monday noon. But then indeed, I was wrong, I'm sorry: I was wrongly thinking that JAF would try to get the pax back home as soon as possible, even it that would mean a double Martinair crew.

Anyway : trust the pax preferrred PH-MCG above OO-TUC for their return flight, don't you think so?
