Hi together,
according to the liege airport topic, I openend this toppic for all arould Charleroi Airport.
As you know, this month it´s the start of 12 new routes from CRL.
Friday, 24th october will be the beginning of operations by Jetairfly from Charleroi and as
from Monday, 27. october Ryanair will start new routes with a new plane.
In total, we have then 7 Planes based in Charleoi.
Does anyone know, when these new planes will arrive?
And will the Jetair-plane will be a new delivered one?
Due to strike at boeing, the delivery of several planes is delayed (e.g. later beginning of
new routes at other bases of ryanair, e.g. Niederrhein/NRN) - so let´s hope that operations
will start as planned.

The JAF plane will not be a new one.
Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
Good idea to open this topic.
A news that we didnt discuss a lot here is that the extention of the brand new terminal is not certain anymore.
I think it's a good idea to wait a bit ... the industry may change a lot, as fast as the finance industry ...

Yes, I think the same. The new terminal should be big enough.
If there would be a category in the guiness book of records, the old terminal would hold all-time-record
for annual passengers per square-meter of terminal: In 2007 we had 2.458.255 passengers on - how much had it been? - i guess not much more than 1500 m2...

The airport car parking prices have been (quietly - in stoemelings) raised from 1st october :
http://www.cityparking-charleroiairport ... php?id=171
For instance, the price for one day is now 15 euros, coming from 13,80 euros ( + 11 %).

Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
The price is still quite ok ... until the day there is a train station in the airport.
To compare, LGG is between 10 and 14 euro a day (but increase are planned)
and BRU, between 17 and 22 euro.

The Jet4you to-day flights
8J534 from Casablanca at 2050
8J535 to Casablanca at 2140
are marked on the CRL website as "Diversion Brussels". Why ?

Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
Night curfew maybe?
Edit: bad idea, later flights depart normally, so no curfew...

Maybe that´s it:Night curfew maybe?
Estimated departure from Brussels will be 23h20 - too late for departures from crl.
Maybe, they knew about the delay since that morning and decided to announce the diversion very soon
Good idea sdbelgium
Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
Just a little clarification - FR will not be basing any new aircraft at CRL until probably next year , other bases will take over the crl rotations to make way for the new routes .

Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
I think you are right! Sorry for my wrong information.FR will not be basing any new aircraft at CRL
First, I thought it must be a new plane because I only checked the timetable: e.g. new destination fez: departure 6h40 from crl but the first outbound flight to girona is now later after first inbound flight from girona.
Sorry... So, at the end of this month we will have only one ore plane at crl (from jetair), so we have
a total of 6 planes.
NCE Weekend to all...

Hello !
I'm new here... It'll be a pleasure for me to give you some " Ryanair informations "
Actually, FR is gonna base another B 737-800 in CRL ( there'll be 6 Ryanair B738 by the end of october ). You can check it by visiting the Ryanair website...Only GRO and PIK ( old destinations ) will get some changes ; for instance, FR6901/6902 will be operated in reverse rotation, with an a/c based in Girona. Meanwhile, FR6906/6907 will still be operated with a CRL a/c. Concerning PIK : winter timetable ( so, less flights ).
Moreover, most of new destinations aren't FR bases ( Marrakesh, Wroclaw, Riga, Tangier, Fez, Montpellier, and so on... ). They need to be operated by " CRL based a/c ".
Good evening !

The gov is talking about a new tax, between 5 and 15 euro per flight per pax.
This could be a very bad news for Charleroi, and Belgian airports in general.
But neightbour countries do prepare the same kind of stuff ... wait and see

Michael O'Leary was reported to be in "Brussels" today. Was it for political reasons, to visit Brussels South Charleroi, or for a holiday?

Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
Tomorrow Ryanair will announce bases at Alghero and Cagliari, including the routes:
- Alghero - Charleroi
Cagliari - Charleroi
Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
Seems correct. Both Cagliari and Alghero are already in the online check-in list from Charleroi at Ryanairs website.
Alghero will probabely be another € 0,01 -route, as it is always one of the promotions at Weeze or Hahn. (Just like CRL - Limoges, to give just one example). I guess demand on this route will not be spectacular.
Any idea about the frequency of both new routes?

Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news
I don't quite understand why those two destinations in Sardegna; it's rather expensive as a touristic location; and there are not that many people connected with Sardegna living in Belgium.
On the other hand, I don't see why Ryanair doesn't fly to Sicilia from CRL : much more touristic and ethnic traffic - many Sicilian and people of sicilian origin live in or near Charleroi and Mons and Liège. Same for the Puglia and Bari/Brindisi ...

Think more about the traffic between mainland Italy and the islands then about the traffic between the rest of Europe and the islands.airazurxtror wrote:I don't quite understand why those two destinations in Sardegna; it's rather expensive as a touristic location; and there are not that many people connected with Sardegna living in Belgium.
