I don't know if it has been posted yet, so apologies if it was.

But! Continental Airways will (finally) upgrade CO60/61 from BRU to EWR to B777-200ER iso 767-400ER. Flight schedule will remain the same daily flight with same hours. Changes are already loaded in GDS and are in effect as of 02JUN09.

764: 235 (35J/200Y)
772: 285 (50J/235Y) or 283 (48J/235Y)

Temporary upgrade again, or definitive?

Sorry for the mistake in airways/airlines :D . AFAIK this is a definitive upgrade. It is loaded in the GDS until at least 15SEP09 (can't look further). Maybe someone else can confirm.

Hmmm, I hope that we will get pax from LH then... Because 3 times to NBO is already more than enough capacity. KGL is another story, the flights are always quite full untill the stopover in KGL. Any chance that they will keep the 4 flights after the summermonths?

Any news yet from the Accra flight or the Cotonou-Lome? I know it should start before the summer, but didn't hear any concrete info anymore.

I think that we had a topic about this new one but I don't know which one, but:

Windjet, Italy, will be a new LCC on Brussels Airport in 2009. They are going to offer 3 flights a week direct to Forli with connections to Palermo and Catania. They are going to fly with their A319.

Tuesday: IV429 dep BRU: 13.05
Thursday: IV429 dep BRU: 12.05
Saturday: IV429 dep BRU: 20.30

First flight will be on 31.03.09

There are some rumors that SN will start some daily flights between BRU ans DRS/LEJ (Dresden and Leipzig), a/c RJ85, commencing at the end of March 2009.
Does anyone know something about that?

SN as in "Sabena"!

7 years after its demise la Sabena is still alive and kicking! :geek:

These 7000 flight numbers suggest that these flights may be some charter flights.

The existing German flights of SN carry a flight number in the 2500-2600 range.

There is only about 150km between both airports, so I very much doubt that both DRS and LEJ would be served with daily (if any) services out of BRU.

If Bremen can only support a SWM, then I doubt that DRS and LEJ could structurally support a daily AR8.

Perhaps a code share with LH? The charter story sounds a bit strange i think... But you are right about the flightnumbers! Strange, but i guess we will see more and more of these things. Good!

Actually, the flight number logic at SN indicates this is probably NOT just a charter flight!

very roughly, the system is like this:
1XXX for charters
2XXX for scheduled self-operated flights
3XXX for scheduled self-operated flights
4XXX currently unused
5XXX for scheduled code-share flights within Europe
6XXX for technical flights (repositioning, test flights, maintenance flights...)
7XXX currently unused
8XXX for scheduled code-share flights outside of Europe
9XXX currently unused

Now, the fact this flight seems to have a number from a series previously unused, indicates it must be something more than just a charter flight. I could image an entirely new range of flight numbers used for the SN/LH code-share flights (like the 7 series for instance), so as to clearly distinguish them from self-operated flights (starting with 2/3) as well as other code-share fligths (5/8)...

Besides, the 2 days of the IATA summer season we can already check online (30th and 31st of March) are weekdays, whereas SN generally operates its charters during weekends due to excess of capacity. Twice daily on weekdays doesn't sound like a charter schedule, but more like the schedule for a regular flight.

BTW, can anybody derive the full schedule, because I only manage to find the inbound flights: it would be interesting to see the outbound flightnumbers and times too...

With some delay, I can announce that Etihad is going to increase their number of flights from 4 to 6 flights a week and this as from 29 March 2009. Normally it was for this winter. They are even going to use their A340-600 on day 4!!!

EY55/56: Days 1 2 5: arriving at BRU: 14.05h departing at BRU: 22.20h A330
EY57/58: days 3 7: arriving at BRU: 07.50h departing at BRU: 11.35h A330
EY57/58: day 4: arriving at BRU: 07.50h departing at BRU: 11.35h A340-600

Good job Brussels Airport!!

Thomas Cook is going to cancel one weekly flight to Punta Cana operated by XL Airways. I don't know yet which flight: Tuesday or Friday. But Thomas Cook will work together with Jetairfly on this route.

Can you please recheck and reconfirm this info? I'm getting a little nervous, because Amadeus is showing A332 for these dates again :? ...

But some positive news also:

Code: Select all

AA 89 BRU 11:05 ORD 12:50 777 0

Seems like AA upgradres ORD-BRU-ORD to the 777 ! Effective from 1st May 2009.
According to A.net forum, it won't be seasonal. ;)

That sounds like great news.

The route has been flown by a 767 since 1988, with some DC10 intervals in 1991-1992. 8-)

Can Atlantis confirm this ?
