Nice will be increased by 20 April 09 with two flights a day. Also their hours are going to change. Departing at BRU: 13.30h and 18.20h

Thanks for the overview Atlantis!

On the new SN website (yes I know there are many errors  ) the list of cities is much longer than the current list of destinations, including e.g. Bari, Cagliari, ... Does this mean we will see those destinations again in summer? Or did the web developers use an old list?

Regards,
Danny

Well, SN is going to increase their numbers of flights on certain routes. Many routes to Italy will see a huge amount of flights and this after a free fall this year. Thus, it could be that Bari and Cagliari will be back during the summer.

As from 4 April, Brussels Airlines is going to start with a weekly (Saturday) flight to Catania. During July and August, the company is going to fly twice a week this route and this on Wednesday and Saturday.

Atlantis,

I thought they already flew to Catania, even in winter. I went there in May-June last year. There were even more flights a week than the one or two you mention ...

Correct Danny, it's a seasonal flight.

But 2008 was a terrible year for flights between IT and Brussels Airport. A real drop in frequenties and this mainly caused by Alitalia and Brussels Airlines.
This year we will see a huge increase of flights again between serveral Italian airports and Brussels Airport.

Some additional info:

Jetairfly:

 Boa Vista - Sal: two flights a week but instead of a flight on Sunday they moved it to Saturday.
So there will be a flight on Wednesday and Saturday.

 Tel-Aviv: something strange. On the site of Jetair (vluchtschema) they mention that on Thursday and Sunday there will be a Tel-Aviv flight from Brussels Airport as from 02.04 instead of LGG. When you will see the flights taking off from LGG they mention the last Tel-Aviv flight on 02.04.
But on the Jetairfly site they still mention LGG as only airport for their Tel-Aviv flights.
Somebody of Jetair/Jetairfly with correct info?

I have a question to the Jetair-members:

Will there be again a seasonal Orlando flight this summer? With the release of the summerflights by Jetair, this destination is removed and not longer bookable. Was the flight not a success?

And what about the Tel-Aviv flights (see my post above)? Jetair is still showing them out of Brussels Airport and not longer LGG.

http://www.jetairfly.com/nl/index.php?pageid=5&ret=TLV

On this page I see no any indication of a BRU-TLV operation.

Everything is out of LGG.

Also on the JAF booking engine you can only book LGG-TLV.

You have to read my post correctly. I wrote that Jetair is speaking on their site, vluchtschema, about flights flights out of BRU to TLV starting 02.04. When you click on vluchtschema LGG, their flights will end on 02.04.

When we have a look on their second site, jetairfly, they speak indeed about LGG-TLV flights.

Strange isn't it: one and the same company can't give correct info.

No seasonal Orlando flights this summer from Jetairfly

According to A.net forum, it won't be seasonal. ;)

That sounds like great news.

The route has been flown by a 767 since 1988, with some DC10 intervals in 1991-1992. 8-)

Can Atlantis confirm this ?
They are going to start a month earlier. First B772 of AA from ORD to BRU on 7 April 09.

Route update:

Continental: will use its B777 between 2nd June till 8th September

Hainan Airlines: is going to use it's A430-600 on an ad-hoc basis to BRU. We saw this beauty already on our airport.

Turkish Airlines: the number of frequenties from Ankara will be increased from 3 to 7 weekly.

Tunisair: Tunis will be served daily as from 1 July

Egyptair: the number of frequenties from Caïro will be increased from 3 to 5 weekly.

Easyjet: will add a 2nd daily flight to Nice as from 20 April

MNG: is already flying it's weekly cargo on Thursday between BRU and IST with its A310.

The second daily SN flight to FRA seems to be discontinued after March 2009? In the booking machine on the SN website only the morning rotation SN2607/08 is still there, SN2613/14 has disappeared ... On Frankfurt Airport website even all SN flights are deleted from April onwards, but that could be a mistake as well :?

Is there a code-share from end of March with LH on this route already? LH seems to have changed its morning departures from FRA as well, LH4572 now leaving at 9h30 instead of 9h05, so the SN2608 at 8h20 fits nicely between the two LH departures. And the afternoon SN departure from Brussels at 17h15 (today) always was in parallel with two LH flights at 17h35 (LH4581) and 18h10 (LH4583), this could be the reason why it has been cancelled in the new summer timetable?

Codeshares between SN and LH as well as SK, and TP are in the pipeline as from the upcoming summer season indeed... ;)

Also, SN is said to operate a return flight to Vilnius 4 times a week as from April.

On the SN booking engine I notice how both rotations are still loaded and bookable up until December 2009.

From 6/4 till 19/4 is it Easter Holidays.
They cut some flights during the holidays on bussiness destinations so
that's maybe the reason ?
