A very good thing indeed - Malpensa is very convenient for Novara, Varese, Lago Maggiore, and the north-west of Milan (in addition to Milan itself), at easyJet most interesting fares.
For the east of Milan, Bergamo, Brescia, etc, Ryanair flights to BGY remain the best choice.

Cathay Pacific Cargo is going to add an extra frequentie out of München to Brussels. This will take place on Wednesday. This extra frequentie is an element in an excisting route to BRU.

Jetairfly wrote:Only one year after moving operations from Charleroi Brussels South airport to Zaventem, Romanian low-cost carrier Blue Air has decreased the number of flights from Bucharest Baneasa to Brussels. Starting from the 26th of October there will be only two flights a week . On Mondays JOR 123 leaves BBU at 08h20 and arrives in BRU at 10h15. On Fridays JOR 123 leaves Romania at 15h20. Flights to Constanta were seasonal and are obviously discontinued during the winter season.
Is the difference in taxes that made Blue Air reducing the frequency from Brussels Airport (by the way the official name of Zaventem) to Bucharest... BUT surprise the post here above it was only for intoxcation... Blue Air has on the website 5 frequencies per week to Bucharest witch represent some 67% more capacity on the route than from Charleroi...

One of the reasons why an airline decreased their number of frequenties is due to the lower demand. Fall and Winter are "calm" months for Brussels Airport. But in this case Blue Air isn't realy decreased their number of flights. They will have 5 flights a week: BBU and STN

Something strange: I saw on the new timetable (Brussels Airport) of DL to/from ATL that between 25.10 and 31.10 there will be no flight on Tuesday. Between 02.11 and 06.03 again full operation (7 flights a week) and between 08.03 and 27.03 again no flight on Tuesday.

The same for their JFK flights: between 02.11 and 06.03 no flights on Tuesday and full operation between 08.03 and 27.03 -> the opposite then ATL when we compare the dates

Somebody with more info about this action?

Atlantis,

I looked it up for you. According to the slotrequests nothing has changed for the DL-flights. They will continue with 7 flights a week to ATL and JFK during the winterseason. But you never know...

From February 2009, Lufthansa will expanded service from Milan Malpensa to 6 European destinations. Direct flights will then be available to Barcelona, Brussels, Budapest, Bucharest, Madrid and Paris. In the 2009 summer timetable London and Lisbon will be added.

Flights operated by Air Dolomiti, Airbus A319.

Thanks Brubiac for this first hand information ;) It's still very weird that Brussels Airport timetable gives several data for ATL and JFK. But I know that the timetable of Brussels Airport is not always 100%.

This is indeed correct. Jetair was sending today an extra press release about the success of Cabo Verde. You can find more on their site.

This in competition with AZ, AP and EZ. During the moring and afternoon (till 16h) MXP is well served. In the evening you have a gap.

And not SN perhaps? Now by the looks of it, it could be that EN would actually be taking over the operations of AP which in turn will be merged with those of AZ in the new CAI. I guess EN and SN may work together on the route if LH bags SN in the coming weeks.

I am very glad to see back Air Dolomiti in Brussels, for me the best regionale airline in Europe. In 1996 it introduced "Settimocielo by Air Dolomiti" – Seventh Heaven – a registered trademark which gives its name to the onboard hospitality and a range of exclusive products...

many years ago there was a daily flight Air Dolomiti from BRU to Verona.

And SN of course, but SN is flying several times a day to MXP. LH/Air Dolomiti will fly max 2 times a day to/from MXP like the other ones I mentioned. It will hurt them more then SN.

Not specific for this topic but Macquarie Airports released a new interim report.

Highlights for Brussels Airport:

Brussels Airport is committed to attract and retaining new long haul carriers and will develop or upgrade
Pier B in order to offer the high quality products and services expected by long haul passengers.

The new low cost terminal for LCC and leisure!! will be finalised late 2009.

What to do with the tent structure, which will become unnecessary when the LC terminal will be ready?

Just demolish and use the freed space for 2 extra widebody gates? Space is very needed at BRU.

Or, just a wild idea: use the location to build a low fare transit hotel with X stories to offer passengers more comfort while having to stay overnight. The floor space of this hotel does not exceed the current floor space so the operations do not have to be disturbed.

The advantages are huge: you can offer your transferpax more comfort while staying overnight, you have something to attract new carriers and keep current carriers, pax don't have to enter Belgium (so not in need of a visa) to have an hotel.
Ofcourse, these rooms won't be suites, but just small but comfortable rooms with a shower and toilet, genre Easy Hotel (see: http://info.easyhotel.com/images/galler ... _Ken02.jpg).

Not so long ago, Air Dolomoti was operating many LH flights between BRU and MUC with CRJ aircraft.
