Moscow Airport to Build Parking Place for Airbus A380

Post by Nat »

Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow intends to equip a parking area for the largest passenger aircraft in the world – Airbus A380...although no one is going to fly to Russia by this plane in the nearest future http://www.russia-ic.com/news/show/4985/

I wonder which route out of Moscow would justify an A380 in the near future.

Anyway, nice move from Russian authorities.

Moscow-JFK
Moscow-Washington
Moscow-Tokyo
Moscow-Peking
Moscow-Hong Kong
Moscow-sydney

The possibilities are various.

Also, the possibility to have Moscow as an alternate is great for airlines doing the trans-eurasian routes.

I think flying SVO-SYD with an A380 may be a touch adventourous, given that no one has ever flown this route to my knowledge. I hope someone does give it a go because my family regularly flies between these cities and finding good connections & cheap fares is very hard. Never mind the A380, an A350 or IL96 will do just fine.

I think SVO-BKK would be the most likely route to get a regular A380 service.

Cheers

Maybe this parking space will be reserved for A380 VIP. Or, potentially, there will be an a380 order by Aeroflot in the near future? :D

Maybe for VIP or charters. SU doens't have any 747's or even 777's so an A380 is a big step up.

Emirates uses Domodedovo so it's not them.
