Lodz to BRU with LOT from 2008

Post by bxleu »

According to this news item - http://www.tanie-latanie.net/archiwum_d ... php?id=216 - LOT is planning to fly from Lodz to Brussels via Poznan from the 2nd quarter of 2008. It should be a daily flight except on Saturdays using a Dornier 323-100 (32 seats).

LOT's intentions have also been made public on the airport's website: http://www.airport.lodz.pl/aktualnosci/1/76

Only a few weeks ago have I identified Poland as the new 'place to be' for European airlines (in a topic on SN's future expansion plans) and my feeling is shown right already.

Poland is a country the size of France, Italy or Spain, yet apart from WAW and KRK (and the latter only recently) no direct links exist between the capital of Europe and on of the largest EU countries in the East!

Important industrial sites like Lodz and Gdansk are completly unserved from BRU! B.air, what are you waiting for???? Wake up please, it is the early bird that catches the worm!

This is not a surprise. Think about the fare last weekend to attract Polish workers in Belgium and for Belgium.

And indeed Brussels Airlines had the change to start flights to cities in Poland.

Poland is hot these days. A lot of airlines are increasing their number of flights of starting new routes to Poland.

When LOT tried to open routes by ERJ145 in codeshare with Sabena from Brussels to both Poznan and Gdansk at the end of the 1990es, it failed miserably after a few months.

The bird was too early. But I agree with you that now the time is right.

Don't forget the Wizz Air flights from CRL to Warsaw and Katowice in your list of existing connections between Poland and Belgium.

Is SkyEurope still flying to Cracow, because I seem to remember reading that this destination was going to be canceled.

First flight (for the press conference) was operated by D-CREW.
