Air Charter Express (ACE) at EBOS

Post by jessy »

Hi all,

Air Charter Express recently started Cargo Operations on EBOS with a DC8-63F reg 9G-AXA.
Now take a look here:
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1271973/L/
it's an L1011 Tristar being "recovered" for ACE.
Anybody knows if this beauty would operate on EBOS??
Any news is much appreciated

already said 9G-AXA is operating on EBOS, that's DC8-63F, seen it from 1 meter distance at EBOS but I was talking about the L1011 reg 9G-BSM (at this moment, aircraft was former starjet and already has titles of Air Charter Express and I was wondering if the L1011 would fly at EBOS not de DC8 (9G-AXA)

EDIT: checking with ATC people about the BRU matter because ACE is normally absed on EBOS :P

ACE is probably foreseen in EBBR on oct 1 because EBOS will be closed for heavies for about three days due to works at the beginning of RWY 26. These resurfacing works should have been carried out last week but were postponed due to the weather. As they predict a lot of rain monday it's possible that the DC8 will still be able to operate from Ostend because those works will most probably be postponed again.

About the L1011: I've heard that Air Charter Express wants to start up passenger flights. I don't think we'll see that one in Ostend. They're awaiting the arrival of a second DC8 to be based in EBOS but have problems finding crew.

Hi all !
Like jessy said , ACE operates at EBOS with DC8-63F, that's for what I have seen and know the (only type comming always from EGDL and then then further on), so for the time being the L1011 Tristar doesn't come at EBOS but but hopefully in the future it'll come, but to be sure I'll check it with the pilots or engineers of ACE if I have the opportunity and let you know something , greetz !

ah yea , and what RadarContact said is correct, for 3 days they will work at EBOS beginning of RWY26 starting from Monday but I shouldn'be suprised neither if it will be postponed again due to rain prediction and then ACE will come to EBOS, greetz !!!!

hi,

thx for the answer Radarcontact and vinair
i rather like to fly these beauties on FS then all those computerised planes and EBOS is an international airport without too much traffic which allows me to fly perfectly on EBOS with these oldies

Found some more info: ACE is now also offering passenger services with 9G-BSM. The Tristar can be leased and will most probably be used for Hadj-flights.

Hi

I saw the evening arrival of the 9G-AXA yesterday in the fog on RWY 08. It stopped quite soon on the RWY (hopefully for them...the tower warned them about the matter).

Now is the DC-8 the only heavy still aloud to land/take @ EBOS? MK Airlines are now diverted to BRU/LGG? And what about the GOC DC10?

As for An-12, An26 , Freebird A321 , Jetair F100 and others ... am I correct that I forsee no real trouble with that?

Best regards: Yannick ;)

No 747, A300 or DC10 can land at OST for the moment as they are not able to make an 180 on the RWY. As RWY 08 is in use this turn is necessary to backtrack the runway after landing and exit via TWY A. Same thing when RWY 26 is in use. After backtrack to the beginning of the RWY an 180 has to be made because TWY L cannot be used to line up. Works should end on thursday at noon. From that moment on, OST disposes again of its full RWY length and can handle again the 747's, A300's and DC10's it's used to. By the way thursday an IL76 of Volga Dnepr is expected (RA-76951) and it's not the one that already visited OST this year (RA-76950). Hopefully works are finished on time.

GCO operates from BRU.
