luchtvaartnieuws.nl announces that Interstate (I4) will soon take delivery of a Lockheed Tri-Star. At this moment, they have one ATR42-500 and one A300-200F (flying for MNG Airlines).
Good news for MAA spotters, and for carriers from neighbouring countries who sometimes (but then urgently) need an extra long haul plane.

(I don't think their L1011-500 and 737-400 are in use yet)

Don't believe anything of Interstate Airlines.
Much "blabla" and no "boemboem" already since their so-called start-up 2 years ago. Remember they would operate a 747 for Silverfleet ? (*cough cough*)
Note the computer/photo-shopped aircraft pictures at their website ! Because they have no planes of course. The single aircraft registered to Interstate is ATR-42 PH-ISA.

Quote from the Interstate website :
"In 2003 he was founder and CEO of the low fare airline V BIRD Airlines, having its home base at Niederrhein Airport in Germany. After the set-up and six months of operations, Roberto Stinga left the company (April 2004) and went back to his holding company Freeway Aviation Transport Group BV, where he, in cooperation with Nico Hemmer, pursued new activities in aviation."
Nice way to avoid saying the reality :
"After the set-up and six months of operations V-Bird went bankrupt in April 2004"...

I indeed also saw the computer photo's, and therefore I've said "(I don't think their L1011-500 and 737-400 are in use yet)".
Wikipedia says their A300 is operated by (wet leased to?) MNG

Don't rely too much on Wikipedia, everyone can write anything on that website (= also b*llsh*t). And probably the writer of the article did nothing more than copying the Interstate website, so no blame to the writer in person indeed (he doesn't know better).LX-LGX wrote:Wikipedia says their A300 is operated by (wet leased to?) Interstate never had an A300, also not with MNG ! And I'm also sure that it would take them a lot of time and money to get an L1011 registered in the Netherlands anno 2007 ! Look at the failed L1011 projects BFS and Munich Airlines in Austria and Germany. BFS even didn't manage to start it up with the plane registered in Sierra Leone !

There was some talk about a reservation of a Tristar on the dutch register. While searching for PH-RST, i found this:Robin_Bamps wrote:... And I'm also sure that it would take them a lot of time and money to get an L1011 registered in the Netherlands anno 2007 ! ...

It seems like on 07/2007 it was put into the dutch register!
