Finnair changes A340 order to A330!

This change looks wierd to me, if you see that the range of a fully loaded A330-300 is not so far... and all of the longhaul destinations are in the far east.. could the remaining A340's in service, handel the demand?

short translation:

Finnair has amended its order for 6 x A340-300 into 7 x A330-300: "less fuel, less maintenance, less environment damage" (Finnair). The A333's will replace the MD-11's in 2009 and 2010. Finnair will keep its actual 3 x A340 because they have a better range when loaded.

I questioned the wisdom of this when they did it, so now they change.

Basically they do not want to buy Boeing, so they are juggling around the situation. They should have bought 777s.
