I am not very good at figures, I admit, but when I read these charts all I see is decreasing pax load factors for b.air (since April 2007 when b.air really started to operate) except for July +1.4 %. The figures in red indicate the trend in load factor for one month compared to the same month the year before. If am wrong, please tell me and if you have time, please explain how to read the charts.
In favor of quality air travel.
Re: Brussels Airlines' loadfactor
Are there any updates on the loadfactor of Brussels Airlines?
Re: Brussels Airlines' loadfactor
The latest AEA monthly statistics were published for December 2008 and the whole year 2008:FlyAirbus wrote:Are there any updates on the load factor of Brussels Airlines?

from KHALEEJ TIMES Dubai Tuesday 23.06.09
"Brussels Airlines' passenger traffic fell 14 per cent in the first four months of this year from 2008- outpacing a 6 per cent drop for all major European airlines."
Let us hope that LH can make a positive turnaround of the situation.

Re: Brussels Airlines' loadfactor
if I did in May Dakar - Brussels - London & Brussels - Dakar. How many times was I counted as a passenger? Two or three times?
Btw flight from Dakar to Brussels was 100% full and Brussels - London about 60%.
Return flight from Brussels to Dakar was 50% full.

Re: Brussels Airlines' loadfactor
B.Air management announced earlier this year that they did not want to expand the airline's African network with a fifth A330 because of the crisis and decreasing pax figures. Now, recent figures show there has been a slight increase in the number of pax to Africa. Will b.air's management reconsider their strategy and go for an additional A330 and more flights to Africa, since these do not seem to be affected by the crisis and are the ones that more it possible for the airline to survive ?

Re: Brussels Airlines' loadfactor
Indeed, only flights to Africa and the Middle-East show a slight increase in number of pax. Unbelievable that they do not use a fifth aircraft for flights to Africa. Even if the a/c is not full, the cargo is "gold".
See what LH did, they opened a new route to Libreville. KL/AF is using bigger a/c for flights to Africa.

This is not a question, but a statement. Anyway: since 24th June 2009, Lufthansa holds 45% of the shares from SN Airholding. The full board has agreed that investments above 1.500.000 euro must be full board approved, and I don’t think that Wolfgang Mayrhuber shares your view that Brussels Airlines urgently needs an external 5th A330 to survive.
I’m sure you know that LH already operates 15 x A333’s. So perhaps Mayrhuber wants to wait a few more weeks, till mrs Kroes finally approves the take over of AUA.
