Let's hope that the bosses of China Airlines will come in China to meet the deleguation...
Highly unlikely, given the explosive relations between the two countries. The delegation will also not meet with the Dalai Lama...

5555?

Post by SN30952 »

As far as I know tody, one definite result of the Belgian commercial mission to Taiwan, including a VLD (at that time) and a PS deputy, came nine month later.

Outbound with papa, inbound with mama ?
But it is still waiting for the first passenger B747-400 from there....

btw Was this my 5555th post ?

There's still some hope, for the BKK-BRU route, at the MICE challenge meeting in Bangkok, China Airlines has shown some interest for this Route.

(no english)

AMS has more luck, a new Thai airliner "Siam Airways" would like to start a route to the Netherlands in October with a 747-400...

Why not BRU, AMS has already EVA, China and KLM flying to BKK?

Does China Airlines get final approval from Brussels airport and Thailand authority to fly Brussels-Bangkok(-Taipei)?

If so, when will it start? and by what kind of aircraft to service this route, 744 or A340?

If the route goes true, i think they will fly the A340 to BRU, the 744 only flies to AMS in Europe! The A340 flies to FRA and FIC and the A330 to VIE...

The B744 is maybe to big to fill in the beginning, and the A330 his range is not so "far"..

744
340
330
Het maximum vliegbereik van bijv. de KLM A330-200 is 12.300 km en BKK-BRU of vv is 9272 km...

mmm... Well the A332 has a long range but China Airlines only has the A333 in service an his fully load range is 10500 km!
So that will be close to fly the BRU-BKK route...

In my link, CI says: Full Passenger Payload Range 4,000 nm. / 7,200 km.
That is why I put also the Max Range of KLM's A330-200 in my answer, only a B767 or B777 WOULD have fewer capcity. But what if mixed cargo would come available?
