It's nice to see that we are getting more long haul flights to Brussels. It seems the Australian's are doing a better job in brussels than the old BIAC.
Air Berlin has requested Slots between TXL and BRU for sommer 2007 ( that does not mean they are getting them, but it's an indication Air Berlin are putting an eye on BRU..)
Air Berlin requested slots for TXL-BRU-TXL twice per day (morning/evening) and a daily PMI (their HUB PMI with connections to 15-20 airports in Portugal and Spain)
Does anyone have any information whether Norwegian have any plans to start services to Oslo or Warsaw? I think they could be very successful. Also, Norwegian's strategy shows a company wishing to connect Norway and Poland to Europe's major cities. So I would think: if they're not interested in Brussels, then why not?
As far is I know, American Airlines doesn't have concrete plans to operate a Brussels - Miami flight in the near future.
However, potential routes are regulary monitored - like with most of the airline companies.
Things can change of course when demand is such high that a direct flight will be feasonable.
It would be very handy for connections with latin america.
If the connecting fares are right they could generate some traffic.
And security issues are probably less a burden in a "smaller" airport like miami in comparison with e.g. JFK or chicago.
