Iberia has 5 A300's that are stored at Valencia Airport.
I was monday at VLC airport and I saw that the 5 A300's from Iberia were moved. The 5 were parked on a taxiway but are now standing close to the Air Nostrum hangar.
But I can't believe that they would use such a fuel consuming airplane.
So Clickair ( What a name ) will start soon.
I'm very curious how they will do it.
With Iberia that will discontinue some routes from Barcelona , will Clickair
only replace Iberia and add some new destinations.
I have flown with Vueling monday and their product and service
improved a lot compared with last year so it will be difficult for Clickair.

Hi, perhaps you culd help me with some translation work in a graphic I found through one of the links in this matter:
http://www.elperiodico.com/EDICION/ED06 ... 02mR98.PDF
I would be interested in the correct translations for the three different signs used in the map.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Bernhard

Sorry for my late answer.
The blue signs : destinations of the new company ( Clickair )
The red signs : new destinations , never flown by the Iberia group ( Iberia / Air Nostrum )
The black / yellow signs : Origin / HUB (Number of destinations )
So from Barcelona Clickair will have 56 destinations ,
Valencia 7 , Sevilla and Malaga 4 ,...
Feel free to ask

careers
Interesting to see how arrogant they continue the application process.
Either CAE and Clickair directly do not accept foreign pilots when
they are not able to talk in spanish. This occurs in the EU in 2006.
Spain is bankroll by some major european countries.
Maybe it works now for the beginning, but later on when the pool of
Vueling captains get empty, they will get the receipt about their
behaviour. Clickair can try to operate their planes with 2 FO`s, zero
flight hours, coming from academy. But probally it will be not a
problem, because they are "spanish"

...Not because the are "spanish" (Spaniards) but because they speak "Spanish" ...
If you go to work to an American company you need to speak English.
If you go to work in an Spanish company, Clickair, you need to
speak Spanish ...
Well may be I am wrong! Maybe it is time Spaniards forget Spanish and
begin to speak English once and for all! And the French too! And the Germans!
And the Japanese! And the Russians! And the Italians! And the Chinese! And even the English people should begin to learn to speak with American accent too!
As for me as I can understand English the only reason I see for pilots to
be asked to know Spanish is that in that way we get assured we do not have pilots who are so arrogant that they do not see the need to learn the language of the people with whom they are going to work with!
Look at the Barcelona team and you will see that all the foreigners learn Spanish!
In Barcelona, Spanish and Catalan are spoken so that you should be happy that only Spanish is needed!
If pilots were not asked to speak Spanish that would mean that the company - a low-cost one! - would have to spend money to translate
everything to those pilots!
But as I said before maybe I am wrong. I would like to know the reasons why A Spanish company should not ask their workers to speak Spanish?
Until now I have not seen any reason.
By the way, does anyone know if you lose your return ticket if you
miss your outbound flight with Easyjet?
I bought a return ticket but I missed the outbound flight. Now I want to
use the return ticket. Can I?
Facts
Business language for pilots is english in every country!
Usually it is a nightmare for foreign pilots to approach airports like
CDG or MAD in a high traffic situation.
You have no idea about positions of other aircraft or about "the
situation awareness" because some nations believe to be alone on
earth.
This absolutely unprofessional and unsafe!

CLICKAIR AND SPANISH REQUIREMENT
I am beginning to see ...
Because English is the language used for flying why should Spanish
be needed?
Well, maybe you are right.
Nevertheless I still think that Spanish (and I do not mention Catalan ...)
should be needed, although maybe at a level that is not very high!
Maybe the problem is that they ask for a very high level of Spanish.
Well, maybe I begin to understand your point ....
The most important thing is that the pilots are good but in an emergency I think that to know Spanish could be a good point too...

native language what will you do in a foreign country during an
emergency? Start to look in books / dictionary?
I don`t like to affront somebody but I know many french and spanish
pilots not able to make smaltalk at the bar.
Do you remember the incident in USA, when a china`s aircraft was
forced by the navy to land?
The reason was: !communication problems!
At the end they could be lucky not to be destroyed by the fighters.
Good luck to you!
I was reading at airliners.net and there are some pictures of the 1ste A320 in Clickair colors , not that bad I think.

They will start this week with the bookings.Charlie Roy wrote: In fact, they would want to hurry up and get their website up and running. They are losing bookings every day at this stage!
They will start the last days of october and will fly from Barcelona El Prat to Amsterdam, Geneva, Zurich, Prague, Dublin and Lisbon, and the domestic flights : Málaga, Valencia, Sevilla and Bilbao. All flights will be codeshared with Iberia.
They will start with 3 planes and 90 cockpit and cabin crew members.
They would like to increase their flights to 200 daily flights , covering 70 airports with a fleet of 30 planes between now and 2008.
Tomorrow we will know who will be the president of the new LCC Clickair.

It seems that the service that Iberia is offering now from BCN will be operated by Clickair. The coming months it will be a battle between the Spanish carriers on the domestic market.
