BRU summer 2006: what to expect: airlines, routes, news

Re: Meeting at BKK
According to the latest, BIAC is not only in talk with Thai Airways but also with Bangkok airlines. But the discussions with Thai are going really good and fast. so, I think we have to focus on Thai.unilitha wrote:Is there anybody who knows what are the results of the negociations about the future of ANA at BRU ? And for the rest ( flight from Bangkok etc...) ? Regards,
No further details for so far.
I think you mean Bangkok Airways. They are planning to expand their fleet, and move into Europe, but at the moment they only fly short-haul planes (ATR72, B717 & A320), so getting to Brussels would be a bit hard. I would love to see them overhere though, I flew them earlier this year and their service is wonderful.
I have bad luck that I couldn't see the first flight of Ethiopian. I'm going on holiday for a couple of weeks.Brubiac wrote:Indeed first flight on 06/06/06 will be flown by the 757-200.Atlantis wrote: - Ethiopian Airlines: three flights a week. According to the latest, the first aircraft will be a B757. Flights are on Thuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
They start on 05.06.06 at ADD and arrive 06.06.06 via CDG at BRU.

Bangkok Airways (PG) is planing to start long-haul ops, but this is more about long-term as they will fly a fleet of six A350 in this purpose.b-west wrote:I think you mean Bangkok Airways. Even before Ethiopian started flights to BRU they increased the total numbers of flights to four a week. The flightschedule ex-BRU is on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. This is according to BIAC.
But when I checked the timetable on the Etiopian site they gave at this moment only TWO flights a week and this on Monday and Friday, at the end of June there will be a third flight on Wednesday. Attention these days are the departing day at ADD, for BRU it's one day later. The aircrafts are B757 and B767. Can someone give an explanation for this?
Also good news is: Biman Bangladesh is coming back to BRU. They will offer one flight a week and this on Saturday. They will land at BRU at 17.25LT, one hour later they will departing to NY. The next day, Sunday, they will leave BRU at 13.45LT.
The timetable of BIAC show's: 10.06 - 22.10 and this for the destinations Dhaka and Dubai.
So, this is good news for BRU and for those who loved the DC10

Don't worry Atlantis, it will arrive tomorrow.Atlantis wrote:The first flight from ADD to BRU leaving tonight is cancelled. You can see this on the timetable for tomorrow on the BIAC site.
What's the reason, lack of aircraft?
There are 2 flights in the system at the moment. The cancelled one and the one that will arrive.
The reason of the cancellation isn't clear to me, it has the same info as the one that will arrive.

Wow! That seems to be pretty serious if you have to drop 2 different routes with almost immediate effect.airbuske wrote:Malmö Aviation wil stop flying between Stockholm Bromma, Göteborg and Brussels from the 1st of July.
I assume SN will continue to operate to both destinations.
Will Malmo Aviation continue with at least the codeshare (with SN)?
Perhaps it is just a cutback of some services during the (for business travel) quiet summer season, rather that ceasing all operations to BRU.
The BIAC timetables do not seem to suggest TF pulling out completely as from 01/07/2006.
Malmo Aviation will stop flying those routes because they lost
a major contract with swedish gouvernement.
The swedish gouvernement didn't renew the contract, but
signed the deal with SAS.
That's why Malmo Aviation will stop, but as far as i know it does
not affect the SNBA flights into Bromma.
Because of this contract, SAS is also considering a 2 x daily BRU-GOT schedule.

SN will continue with this routes, Malmö will code share with SNBA. Even SNBA will increase, from August, the flights to Stockholm to three a day with one nightstop.Established02 wrote:Wow! I know that they are using during the weekens their own equippement.Atlantis wrote:I have a question, is SNBA serving by themselfs the flights to CDG now instead of Axis? I saw on the BIAC timetable an A319 and an Avro RJ85.
But that's al I know.
