Vueling to change/drop its Madrid-Brussels route?

Post by OO-SBZ »

I have just tried to check the prices in April (and after) on the carrier's web-site and I get this message "ticket reservation is not yet available".

This surprises me because the two other routes (BRU-VLC & BRU-BCN) are on sale for that period.

Does the Spanish budget carrier plan to drop the route facing Iberia's competition?

Are they going to add more frequencies?

Any info is welcome!

They are not going to drop the MAD - BRU - MAD!

Ticket reservation is also not possible for MAD- BCN /FCO.

I think they are still waiting for a confirmation from AENA.
AENA is very slow ! This is not the first time. Don't ask my why
it takes so long.

Adding frequencies is possible.

I can tell you also that Vueling will open 9 new routes this year.

@ airbuske,

deadline of slot resturns was end January 2006. As Vueling is already cutting back 1x daily BRIBCN rotation in summer due to slot constraints they probably have also slot problems in MAD to rotate their aircraft.

I also beleive they will not drop the route however I guess passengers will face a lot of delays if you have to schedule this tight !

Romanian LCC Blue Air has also problems in getting confirmation from AENA for 2x weekly BBU-VLC route. The documentation for this route was done the same time with BBU-HHN route(somewhere in december 2005). The asnwer for germans came several weeks ago and the route will soon be operational(starting 31 march 3x weekly flights) but the spanish are mooving too slow... .

I continue here , in this previous topic.
Sorry for starting a new topic

I was checking the summer timetable and it seems that Vueling will reduce its flights to BRU from BCN and MAD .

For the moment we have 2 daily flights to & from BCN
and 1 daily flight to MAD.

From 26/03 we will have 1 daily flight to & from Barcelona
and 3 flights a week to & from MAD

Does someone know why this is ?
Poor LF ?
Not enough planes ?
Problems with AENA for confirming the routes ?
