just a question: the article says that ILFC ordered 20 planes at a cost of USD 2.4bn. Later on, it says that each plane has a list price of USD 120mio - which is right away 2.4bn divided by 20, but ILFC got a discount. I am not a native English speaker (as some of you might have guessed ;-) but does this article give the impression that ILFC has spent 2.4bn or not?

No, you will never see what any customer actually paid for any Aircraft, thats a bigger secret than a womans age. they will have paid substantially less than the list price.

Why not A350? Is it because they figure out their customers will favour B787? Anybody knows?

Thanks!

So true!!!!

About the A350, I'm sure ILFC will order some of those too in the future. They need to respect their customers needs. Some prefer the 787 over the A350 and vice versa.

AFAIK, this is correct! Also ILFC is Boeing's biggest single customer.

Concerning the order, it is not impossible that the order belongs to QF.
