CEO Rob Kuijpers will give on September 1 2005 a pressconference about the future and commercial plans about the two airlines, SNBA and Virgin Express.
There is also a rumour that Rob Kuijpers will leave SNBA due to tensions with some shareholders after the merger of the two airlines.

SNBA issued a statement to the Belga press agency on Friday vehemently denying this rumour. I cannot remember the exact wording, but it was a very strong denial. It also said there was no disagreement between Etienne Davignon and Rob Kuijpers. There is also a rumour that Rob Kuijpers will leave SNBA due to tensions with some shareholders after the merger of the two airlines.

There was an article about it in "De Morgen" yesterday.
The newspaper tells that the plans of Mr Rob Kuypers were rejected by the board of SN Airholding, because most of them find it too conservative; he would like to give the "leisure destinations" to Virgin Express, and SNBA for the business traveller.
Further he told the board his plans to grow on the African continent with a 4th airplane ( airbus A330 ? ).
The board of SN Airholding says the market is changing ( look at KLM-Air France who are developping their African market ), and it would be better to look for an other market...
At the end of this month, they would have an other reunion, where Mr Rob Kuypers can present a new strategy; if the members of the board won't be satisfied, there is a possibility that Rob Kuypers can leave...
So...will be continued...

Both Kuijpers and Davignon / Meyfroidt / Jacobs / Vaninnis should spend more time at the airport, to observe the people checking in at Virgin Express: they will notice more guys with portables then backpackers. There is no clear separation business/leisure anymore. The weeks and months after 11th September 2001, things have changed. Businessmen don't want to pay anymore for an expensive ticket that includes a free newspaper anymore: they will buy that at the kiosk, for 1 euro. They want a schedule that suits them, an airline with 100% safety record, a ticket that's not too expensive, a flight that will leave on time and a crew who's friendly and polite (and doens't go on strike every three months).
Of course Virgin mainly attracts tourists, while SNBA focuses on a business clientele. But SNBA also needs tourists and VEX also needs businessmen (m/f).
