Wow, it looks like Boeing is on the roll again!
But what a coincidence that yesterday the AC order was announced, today the AI order, and tomorrow the A380 will take it's first flight. Has Boeing something saved for us that they will present tomorrow?
Guess that there is a tense atmosphere in the Airbus boardroom nowadays...
Let's hope that there will be new order for Boeing from Europe soon, but still this is great news!
It looks like that is going to change, Boeing will be on No. 1 again...Bloomberg wrote:Boeing Co., the world's No. 2 commercial airplane maker

I actually beleive that Airbus may have a point. How can AI Board choose what´s best if Airbus was not able to present the A350 up against the B787.
It may seem that this may be a logical move, as corruption may be involved. Lets not forget that its the Goverments money being spent here and not a private company.

Nothing is confirmed as of yet. The approval is yet to be taken from several committes. And yes, the latest is that AIRBUS has asked the CVC the Central Vigilance Committee in INDIA to probe in the matter.bits44 wrote:Reports are indicating that a 50 Aircraft order will go to Boeing.

So, i guess, we wait and watch
Aum Sweet Aum.
A recent article from India.

I think Airbus should be a little more careful about their tactics, this will not reflect well on them as a company, and may sway some decisions on future orders. One comment I heard from an airline exec. was "Thats like the Pot calling the Kettle black".

Airbus....Yes their new A380 is amazing, but why do they have to cry and stop their feet like children.

They are a professional commerical business and they should accept and RESPECT their CUSTOMERS decisions.
AIR INDIA evaluated their future plans and felt that the 787 and 777 would best suit them. And I see AI operating NON-STOPS from INDIA-USA and more cities in the near future....on the 777-200LR so that strategy would work out better for them than the A380.
And Plus, Indian Airports can realsitically handle 777 or 787 aircraft without the stress the A380 would impose. Yeah some airlines will eventually send their A380s to India, but imagine the Baggage claim when that flight arrives. I once waited 2 hours for my luggage off a full LH boeing 744 flight from FRA-BOM, just imagine the A380 wait. This might not happen, but if an A380 landed at Bangalore (BLR)...it might be bigger than the entire airport (..only joking of course..but this airport has improved a lot in the last 10 yrs and thats saying a lot...just cant wait till the new BLR airport if it ever comes)
anyhow Congrats AI and I hope you(India govt) go ahead with buying more Palaces in the Sky for many years to come!
