Amazing what a nice service BA has in Economy class!

Full trip report hopefully up within one week.

Frederic,

You seemed to have fallen in love with BA. I did not find their sandwiches (or Deli as they name them) any better than SN BA's. On their BAe146s they put 6 people in a row when SN BA aligns only 5. They speak English only when SN BA speaks at least three languages. They do not give FF miles for low fares when SN BA gives them for all fares.

In most cases, SN BA has a huge advantage ober BA. That's why, even though I have to take BA to go to MAN this Tuesday (and come back Wednesday), I booked the flights under their SN code.

André: I did not fly the BAe146 ;)

I have to say that, although I'm 1m93, I only felt cramped in the A319.

The B752 and B763 were very comfortable. Although I don't like flying on props, I have to say that I, besides Alitalia, never had so much legspace! I could even stretch my legs!

Frederic,

I have just read (and posted to Luchtzak's latest news) that British Airways will offer vouchers worth $128 to any passengers whose plans were disrupted by a wildcat strike at Heathrow airport.

I think that you have been delayed quite a lot by that strike. Go after them! Get your money back!

Thanks André, I did some research for this offer on Friday, and it is ONLY for UK residents :(

But still I will try to get a voucher (80£). Or... did this change in the meantime, because you talk about the amount in dollar? This is very interesting, maybe they got so much critics that it was only for UK residents, that now everyone gets one?

Thanks anyway for the news...

From BA website:

In view of the exceptional circumstances, we have decided to exercise our discretion and would like to offer UK passengers who were due to depart from London Heathrow during the disruption a gesture of goodwill.

Frederic,

Look here: http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/030804/british_ ... ers_1.html

If they offer refunds only to UK residents, that's discrimination under EU law, and it should be forbidden or extended to all EU residents

Frederic,

I have just submitted a news release of Richard Branson indicating that Virgin Atlantic was offering stranded BA passengers a rebate of £100 ($160, more than the BA offer) on long-haul VS flights.

That's bright marketing!
