Flying out of Düsseldorf can be interesting with Emirates, no idea if they fly to Cebu.

No, but they do fly to Manila (codeshare with Philippine Airlines). Unfortunately, living in Brugge, Düsseldorf is not really that close to home for me. It's a good thing Charles de Gaulle airport can be reached quite easily from where I live. But as far as destinations in South East Asia are concerned, Zaventem is a total zero.

04.09.05 BRU-LPA on FQ
18.09.05 LPA-BRU on FQ

There will also be some flights between BRU and MAD as my sister is moving to the city of Madrid.

Still looking for a "faraway" destination as well. Been thinking about YVR (Vancouver) but nothing decided / confirmed yet...

I heard that....is it so much more reliable? Whenever I have taken the AF Coach into the City it has been ok - never really bothered by traffic. Usually about 10am - just after the ABZ flight lands......

I just dont want to be having to carry luggage through railway stations if it can be avoided....how complicated is it?

Oh - and I edited my list to include some that i missed!

I hope that I will fly to a European (surprise) destination tomorrow.
SN Airlines has a contest where I have to collect votes, if I have the most votes I can fly away tomorrow.

So please vote for me :D

Thanks to all voters !!

To Ozzie, I am Brugian as well. I did the trip to Düsseldorf in 2004 for the Bangkok trip. With Emirates. Exactly 3 hours driving. There WAS a private cheap parking lot, +- 3 euro a day. But I just received an email that their lease ends in August. So, from than onwards to P4.
The special about DUS is that you can take Mahan air for +- 500 euro, 800 euro in business.

Hi all!

Amazed by all your air travel... Got one question and to me it seems quit obvious but U never know: For the people who fly often and very far away, is it actually for business?

Me myself have only flown once this year: bru-rom with virgin!

Unfortunately I also have a passion for trains so this year travelled from Brussels to Manchester and in a month it will be florence to brussels by train by day.

In my case, the answer is that the vast majority of flights are for business. Privately, I usually have one or two return flights per year (often one long-haul for my 'long' holiday).

If we fly from LGG or OST we have to sign in at BRU, unless we live closer to LGG/OST. In the latter we can sign in at that airport directly. But since I live the closest to BRU I always have to sign in at BRU. From there we are driven by taxi.
This of course means long days, especially when we arrive in OST around 16.00 LT, we are in the middle of traffic back to BRU.

Well, I will certainly be busy in August! I have 95 flight hours rostered, with still a few standby's that can be filled up. Because our scheduling dept. isn't 100% effective yet, they also tend to change ALC into TFS-FUE and RHO-HER at the last minute, so I might go up to 110 hrs next month.
I am glad I don't have too many flights out of LGG or OST, but there are a few others I would like to skip as well: the LGG-ALC-AGP-LGG arrives in BRU by 05.00 LT and in the afternoon around 17.30 LT I have to sign in again for another flight...
When am I supposed to sleep with 2 little kids running around the house?!

Oh well, I guess I have the winterseason to catch up sleep!
Greetz
