Miles and More (LH)

Post by sn26567 »

I am really pissed off by the Miles and More programme of Lufthansa and its allies. Does it mean "Less Free Miles and More Hassle"?

Compared to the former Qualiflyer or the current Privilege programme of SN, it offers you only peanuts, and then at a very high cost. Compare with just one example:

A free flight in Europe: LH: 30,000 miles - SN: 20,000 miles
If your return flight on LH is on the same day as the first flight, than you even have to disburse 40,000 miles, a restriction that does not apply to SN.

Companion ticket: only 15,000 miles on SN. Does not exits on LH.

Internet award booking will save you 3,000 miles on LH, but applies only to LH flights, not to OS, SK, LO, UA, BD, etc.

I therefore try to avoid LH and its alliance as often as I can. However, this is not always possible: LH has a monopoly on the BRU-FRA route for example.

When shall we at long last have SN flights to FRA ?
Bart ?

Miles and More (LH)

Post by Sabena_690 »

Hello andreorban,

Already more than 20% of the flights at the moment at BRU (28% I believe) are Star Alliance. So it´s quite interesting to be a member of their FF program.

I don´t think that SN will ever fly again to FRA, because this route was mainly used for connecting passengers...

What´s your favourite FF program besides Privilege of SN?
Miles and More (LH)

Off the record: isn´t it so that once you are a ´LH Miles&More Frequent Traveller´, that you earn full mileage on all booking classes + a 25% tiers bonus?

You upgrade from to ´Frequent Traveller´ after 35000 miles if you are not a German resident.

Miles and More (LH)

Besides SN, I used Continental´s FF programme a lot: it is quite generous and miles never expire. But I don´t fly to the US anymore.

Another glitch with LH: when you are booked for a multi-leg trip, be sure to show your card for each trip. Even when you get two boarding passes, only the first one willl be registered to your Miles-and-More account. They seem to do everything to avoid giving you hard-earned miles.
Enfin, c´est la vie!

Other M&M-harrassments include :
- not crediting promised bonus miles for eg. email newsletter, online polls/questionnaires, etc
- (GlobeGround agent in BRU) being unaware/unwilling to type in your M&M number for Condor flights
- not being able to claim missing miles by email, then they say they 'lost' the snail mail claim and original boarding passes, then they say that their fax was not working when I sent copies I'd made of it (much to their disappointment), etc
- not processing the miles for flown LOT-segments

Indeed, quite a difference if you are used to the ex-QG and SN FFP service...

Geert,

Why don't you vote at the poll for the best FF programme at
