LOT to Poland

Post by Comet »

We are seriously considering Poland for our holiday this year, maybe flying with LOT from LHR to WAW or KRK via WAW. Are they a good choice? I've read quite a bit of negative stuff about them. The only other alternative is British Airways to WAW.

Thanks for the answers :-) My big concern about connecting flights - and maybe I'm being over cautious or silly here - but what happens if you are due to catch a connecting flight from BRU for example, but your flight into BRU is late or cancelled and you miss your onward flight from BRU? That is one thing which would concern me if I was going via another airport.

If you miss your connection due late arrival we rebook you on the first available solution.

Hi Comet,
On average I 'm doing around 50 connecting flights a year. Already 13 years now. I missed 3 connections (all due to weather conditions): 2 in FRA and 1 in ZRH. Everything smoothly arranged by LH and LX: they always rebooked me on the first available flight. I 'm confident SN does exactly the same. On top of that: in the very rare case you should lose your connection at BRU, SN has the possibility to put you on another LH-group flight. More than enough choice at BRU via FRA, MUC, ZRH and VIE. On top of that: even LOT is a *A partner.
My last flight to KRK was with OS. Great flights and smooth connection at VIE.
So you shouldn't be too worried.

You didn't mention price though. And is a 1 or 2 days stopover in BRU allowed in this case?

Thanks for the info everybody :-) We booked flights with BA as they had some great timings - morning out and very early afternoon back - which were perfect for what we wanted.
