I'll have to go to Dubai soon.
The schedule is very much the same from BRU or DUS. The driving time for me is 1h for BRU, 1h20 for DUS.
The main difference is that I get the B777-300 in BRU, and the A380 in DUS.
I'm very tempted to go to DUS to make my first A380 flight, is it worth the stretch ?
To dubai, B777 or A380 ?

Definitely. If you travel in Economy, your seat will be more comfortable (wider) on the A380.

And why not BRU-DXB and DXB-DUS??? Like that you have both of them.
Re: To dubai, B777 or A380 ?
If you like to see true the window the 777 is better sure if you are on the upper deck.
Hasta la victoria siempre.

I might try the a380
The 3-4-3 setup in the 777 isnt very sexy

Why not taking the train?Acid-drop wrote: I would do that if i wasnt driving myself
You have the Thalys direct from Liège-Guillemins to DUS Flughafen, or at worst a change in Köln. Takes about 1h30, no hassle, no parking fee at DUS...
OK, you need to check for strikes on that day
Enjoy your trip.

it is definitely an experience flying with the A380, so would go for it if you have the chance !
Re: To dubai, B777 or A380 ?
I realy don't like the A380 as a planespotter it's a hovercraft with small windows and 3-4-3 in the A380 isn't sexy neither ...
I always travel with my binoculars to see the ground and the other planes believe me forget the ground....the windows are looking upwards.
The most beautiful plane is the 787 and I'm sure the A350 with nice big windows and flying high over the other the planes at 12.500M...

Ok maybe you have more space in the A380 of Emirates but for a plane spotter like me it's not a nice plane for the reasons I said before.Acid-drop wrote:Some numbers, emirates and also other, to compare :lumumba wrote:I realy don't like the A380 as a planespotter it's a hovercraft with small windows and 3-4-3 in the A380 isn't sexy neither ...

I think that's the best option if it's in your possibility to go to/from 2 different airports.pigthebest wrote:And why not BRU-DXB and DXB-DUS??? Like that you have both of them.
I flew the QF A380 in premium economy (upper deck) and was amazed by the quietness of the plane. Boarding and deboarding were more fluent than some A320's or B737's I've taken over the years.

Re: To dubai, B777 or A380 ?
This is just my 0,02€ but I won't even bother reading the article about the controversy. I've flown on both the 77W and the A380 and will definitely try to AVOID EK's 77W in the future ! The A380 seemed to be J class in comparison...
Again, this is just MY opinion
Edit: try both out of DUS, if I'm not mistaken the second daily flight is operated by a 77W... And if you go back on the 77W, I bet you will try to find an alternative to EK for your next trip
