Trip report BRU-BSL-BRU with Brussels Airlines

Post by CRJ 900 »

Hi All,

Small report on a BRU-BSL and BSL - BRU last week

Flight nr SN 2701
ARJ 100, OO-DWD
Boarding: scheduled 5h55, actual 6h05
Departure: scheduled 6h25, actual 6h43
Arrival: scheduled 7h30, actual 7h30
Gate A62 (changed, Original 39)

LF very low. 14 px (+/- 14% LF)

Arriving at BRU around 5h00. Easy and fast security check due to the priority lane.
Already quite busy in BRU this early. A lot of charter flights. Summer holiday seemed to be kicked off.
After an espresso in the lounge, heading to the new gate (62). An unusual long walk if you're used to the LH or LX positions at the front of the A terminal :)
Around our gate there was a lot of people flying to the sun (JAF and HQ flights). The seats around our gate were nearly empty 5 passengers.
Boarding a few minutes late, but with this nr of passengers, no issue. Finally we were with 14 passengers, of them 1 in business, 3 in B-Flex, the rest in the B-light formulas.
This was really a remarkably low LF.
Departure a few minutes late. Due to the runway works on 25L, we had a nice departure over Perk, turning over Kampenhout and heading directly to Basel.
Flight was quite uneventful.
Smooth landing in BSL.
Luckily the return flight seemed to have a good LF. Already 50 - 60 pax waiting at the gate for their trip to BRU.

Flightnr SN 2706
ARJ100 OO-DWK
Landed in BSL at 18h56
Boarding scheduled 18h35, actual 19h25
Departure scheduled 19h15, actual 19h50
Arrival: scheduled 20h20, actual 20h40

LF +/- 85%

Arriving the next day back in BSL in rather heavy thunderstorms. Nevertheless, everything seemed to work as planned at BSL.
Very easy and fast check in. Priority lane for status holders. I passed in less than 5 minutes through security.
Still a very nice lounge in BSL. Green, spaciuos, with a nice view on the appron. There was a nice Constellation parked. Otherwise: impressive presence of Easyjet over there. Some LH and a lost KL. Pitty there is no LX anymore. Did some easy transfer to BCN there in the past.
Flight arrived with some delay which we kept till arrival.
LF was high compared to the inbound flight.
Very uneventfull flight. In BRU there were still a lot of pax. Really remarkable that late at night.
Like happening more often these days, there was a real traffic jam to get into the arrival hall while passing the customs. Everybody is forced through that small corridor (3 - 4m width). If the nrs of pax keep increasing that way, they should definitely think about a solution there. It will not only be the aircraft having congestion problems at BRU :-)
Noticed that the 9W to Delhi was canceled and that the YYZ had a hughe delay. Not usual to see a 9W A330 that late in BRU. Anyone knowing the reason?

Conclusion: normal, good service as expected from SN. low LF on the BRU - BSL leg. High LF on the return.

Rgds,

Thanks for sharing your report, CRJ900. Were you the lone C-class passenger, or did you travel Y flex or light? And how was the catering on board (if any)?

Hi André,
For these really short flights we don't fly C.
So I was one of the 10 B-Light and Relax travellers.
I didn't get anything from the catering this time, as I tried to sleep a bit. Left very early in the morning to get to BRU.
In the return also B-Light. Had already enough food and drinks in the lounge, especially now we needed to stay a longer due to the delay.
Rgds,

PS forgot to mention my seats in the report: BRU - BSL 5F, BSL - BRU 4A
