BRU-ATH SN3245 10/06/2014

Post by speedbird1 »

Can anyone in handling shed any light on today's Athens flight that went without any baggage, apparently due to a ground handling strike. I didn't hear anything about this on the official channels, but it looks like a real mess with pax being told that they had baggage on their flight then arriving and being told no bags were loaded onto the aircraft. I saw some tweets from Brussels Airlines but they don't seem to really know what happened either and I know that people still don't have their baggage tonight. Is there a chance that handlers went missing due to the football flight departing perhaps?

From what I've heard there was indeed a union meeting during the morning. It started at around 10lt and lasted until 1100lt. According to info recieved from Swissport it was not a strike but an information session.

Thanks for the info AirOpinion, I see there are more posts on the reviews section of their Facebook account. Seems to be a bit of a mess.

There was indeed a union meeting during rush hour. However, main problem was that people involved were people transporting the bags to and from the aircraft and not the loading teams.

The title of this topic surprises me. Were there two SN2014 flights yesterday, one to Sao Paulo and one to Athens? If so this might have created an awful confusion among the baggage loaders!
