I had a great day in the air today and decided to write a little report about my flight.
Flight: MH0073 (codeshare with CX)
Date: 22 October 2013
Sector: Hong Kong (HKG) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL) / 1483 NM or 2746 km.
STD: 13:45 actual 13:43 from gate 62 (GMT+8)
STA: 18:25, actual 18:30 at gate (GMT+8)
Time: 3:18 in the air. Total time 3u47.
Aircraft: Airbus A380-800 (9M-MNE) - Serial number 94 - age: 1,1 year.
PAX: 451
No online check-in just the old way ask the guy at the check-in desk that you want to sit on the window. He proposed if "I want to sit at the emergency exit?", I asked "Has that a window?" yes great. I got seat 42K.
Airbus A380 9M-MNE in Hong Kong International at the gate with a Spring Airlines Airbus A320 in the background.
Boarding at Gate 62
Our neighbor 'the little' Cathay Pacific Boeing 747 (B-HUA) ready for flight to Beijing
Taxiing to runway 25L
Huge space at 42K
Shortly after take-off we were offered lunch, choice between chicken and rice or fish. I chose fish> It also the first airline who offer Snickers
After lunch one of the flight attendants asked if I just wanted to see some things? I followed her on tour.
Business class on the upper deck was 100% full
Back of the aircraft
And then Crew only
Crew Rest Area in the back of the plane. Malaysia flies daily between London, Paris and Hong Kong with the A380. They only use this place for the long flights like London Heathrow and Paris Charles De Gaulle.
After this I went back to my seat for icecream, orange juice, tea.
The window that I asked by check-in
And then I went to First Class for photo shoot there was nobody in First on this flight.
Took a picture of the stairs to go to the upper deck.
And go back to my (economy) seat for a smooth landing in Kuala Lumpur.
here parked at the gate, you can see also a PIA A310
After landing in Malaysia I asked for visiting the cockpit and this was no problem.
I took also a shots of the crew rest area for cockpit crew behind the cockpit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So this was my day (today) yesterday Hope you enjoyed it.

* actually I took another flight from KUL to SIN also with MH but only with a 737-800. And not so much spectacular as this one.

Re: Trip report HKG-KUL MH A380
Apparently missed each other for a day
Left HKG on the 21st to FRA with LH, B747-8 (less exotic than MH)
Good airline: flew them in June from NRT to KUL.
Nice report by the way.

Great report and photos I don't like the First Class seat though, too far back from the window to be able to see easily. I like a good view so I can take loads of photos.
Like the Snickers - that is the first "branded" chocolate bar I've seen in a plane since a Sabena steward gave me a Twix bar because I was allergic to the sandwiches on offer.

Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.
