flights to be booked but 99% sure.

Feb '10: Dakar - Bamako - Dakar (airline to be decided Air Mali / Kenya Airlines or Etheopian Airlines (although the latter has had some nasty crashes during the last couple of years)
Mar '10: Dakar - Capetown - Dakar (with South African Airways via Joburg). I need the miles!
May '10: Dakar - Brussels (Brussels Airlines)

rest of year unknown, but want to go to Chili this year.. too bad Turkish Airlines dropped its flight from IST - DKR - GRU (now they're going nonstop) as now I will have to backtrack first to Europe.

We booked our flights today, we are flying LBA-BRU-LBA in September. We have Brussels Airlines tickets but the flight is operated by BMI with an SN code. We have never flown from LBA before so it will be a new experience.

I don't know from where you depart. But if you would depart from Brussels, you can do both destinations in 1 go with Hainan Airlines. Friends booked tickets Brussels-Bejing-Hongkong ( from where you can travel pretty fast to Macau ) -Bangkok - Shanghai-Brussels/ 590 euro go/return, economy of course...
I am sure that from other departure points you can find similar travel possebilities. Good luck.

I'm hoping to fly to Switzerland this year, my journey has been delayed for about two years already. I've got to go there !! and I hope it will be a good flight. Last time I took a flight to (New York), I sat with a person who couldn't stop talking about her religious sect , and worst she insisted me to join!! she was talking about heaven, devil, angels, and many kinds of things I didn't want to hear and she wouldn't stop, that time I really wish I could find a parachute and jump off the plane !!

Hi all,

This is an update of my flights this year. Some (potential) trips are still missing, including Abu Dhabi and Ottawa ... Some months are quite full, others are more 'relaxing'. In total I have flown or will fly 49 legs, most of them with SN, some LH ... I can not use some of the direct flights for reasons of timing (e.g. would have like dto fly Blue1, but did not fir my meetings schedule). Will also have some spare time to work at the airports (lounges) ...

With all licenses finally OK, budget is my only restraint. I certainly hope to fly into France even before summer, and to visit at least the Schaffen fly-in as a pilot. Fly-ins are a lot more fun if one is in the in-crowd!
Still I also hope to visit my beloved Lithuania again, probably in autumn. Failing all else, I might even be tempted to get myself flown (instead of actually flying) to Kaunas, to visit the museum at the old Aleksotas aerodrome.

I am beginning to wish we had booked our flights from EDI instead of LBA, I wish I'd never even heard of LBA :(

The flight should hopefully be OK CX-B. I am just not very happy with the information (or lack of it) on LBA's appalling website. On their "quick timetable" it says there are three flights daily between LBA and BRU in summer, but the past few weeks I have been following arrivals and departures there and on some occasions there have been no flights to and from BRU, which I thought seemed strange. I decided to download a "full timetable" from LBA's website to try and find out where the "missing" flights were, and their "May 2010" timetable is nothing of the sort because they are still linking to the old winter one which ended in March  I was feeling concerned about whether or not our flight would be running with all the conflicting info I was not sure, but thankfully BRU has a very good and informative website with an up to date timetable and my queries have finally been answered. The only airport over here which seemed to have a full daily schedule to BRU with BMI was EDI.

I am looking forward to my ride in an ERJ again (the 145 would be good, so far the 135 is scheduled but I suppose that could change between now and September). This is the first time as well that I have a codeshare ticket, usually we have booked with the airline operating the flight.

Hi,

I was already wondering what the problem could be.. but if it's SN I guess
your flight will fly if there's no ashcloud and even this is less uncertain due new regolations ..
I hope not but I guess on-line check in gonna be very messy, this happened with me on
a codeshare flight of SN for LH !
Hope they learn quite but I don't guess so..
Enjoy the EMB145,never had that experience with it.. some pics of a kind of a report (please! ).
THX!
Let us now if there's anything SN inside the cabin ! heard it would be SN instead of BMI and
am quite curious about it!
Enjoy Belgium lady and have a nice flight !

CX-B - actually, the only link between SN and LBA is that SN are putting their code on this BMI Regional operated service.

If you're referring to the wetlease agreement between SN and BMI, this is only applies to NCL and BRS (SN destinations operated by BMI metal).

LBA/EDI/EMA to BRU are full BMI Regional routes in codeshare with SN.

Hi,

So okay ! I was referring to that but for now..
What's the real difference in a pax point of view between the wetlease and the code-share,
except the flightnumber and flight magazine SN or BMI ?

The ERJ145 and the 135 are different to what you might expect. You see a small aircraft (smaller than the other regional jets) but they have about 18 rows of seats, which seems alot with their small size, and the legroom isn't as bad as you'd think. They are three abreast, with a narrow aisle. Viewing is generally very good, as the wings are small and the rear placed engines do not obstruct views even at the back (I've had the back seat a few times on the ERJ).

I am very much looking forward to my flights, especially to BRU as I love the approach onto 25L and seeing if I can recognise anywhere (Zeebrugge would be the easiest for me to identify from the air).

Hopefully my flights will be the same ones I booked on - each year from 2006 onwards I have had to be rebooked onto later flights when a flight I booked earlier in the day has been withdrawn, the flight timings I have so far are great - not too early in the morning (to allow me time to get to the airport) and not late at night to make getting a train home difficult.
