It will be my first time flying with tiger airways, tiger airways australia, jetstar, jetstar asia, qantas and cathay pacific soon! Does anyone have any experiences with any of these airlines? Aren they good?

I was really impressed by Air Canada, very good service, and even on domestic service have Ondemand entertainment. Air Transat did not impress me at all, it was also my first time flying with Monarch Airlines, although because of operational issues, the flight was actually operated by Air Finland- very good!

I also need to cross Perth airport quickly next month to get connecting flights, does anyone have experience of getting between the international and domestic terminals?

I only flew with CX of all carriers on your list. It was back in 1996 ( LHR-HKG-CDG with HKG still being Kai Tak :P ) and already then CX was known as one of the top world carriers. I do not think you will be unhappy while flying with them ! Just as QF is one of the better airlines what I heard from others ! Enjoy your trip !

Look who's back!... :)
I'm planning a vacation at the US West Coast in May or June.
Therefore I have to fly to San Francisco. I can either go with AA, CO,DL or BA but I'm awaiting the new catalogue with prices for 2009. So it will be in December 2008 that I make final plans for my trip.
If I go on this trip it will be from August 2005 that I flew.

@ MD-11. What are you talking about, because I don't get it. You are planning a trip to the west coast of the USA in may / june. You will make your final plans in december 2008 but are awaiting a price catalogue for 2009 ???

Last time I checked the month was august, the year right now is 2009 !

So when is this trip of yours ? 2009 ? , 2010? , '11 ? :?

grtz,

Bob

like it is kind of planned for the moment:

BRU-LHR-LAX 30/11/2009
LAX-TUS 04/12/2009
PHX-LHR-BRU 07/12/2009

During this trip, I'll visit LAX, Mojave, Victorville, El Mirage, Avra Valley, Marana Pinal Park, Tucson, Pima Air & Space museum, Davis Montan, Phoenix, Goodyear ... and some more locations, we'll see what comes :-)

The locations are confirmed, the dates almost.

My overview of 2009 so far;

BRU > DEL > BRU (9W - a333)
BRU > JFK > BRU (AA - 767)
CDG > SFO (AF - 744)
LAX > CDG (AF - 772)
BRU > MAD > BRU (SN - 734)
FRA > HKG (LH - 744)
HKG > MUC (LH - a346)

Coming up (end of December):

CDG > PVG (AF - a332)
PVG > SYD (MU - a332)
SYD > FRA (QF - 744)

and probably another BRU > JFK > BRU somewhere in between.

I know ! The flights to MXP and FCO are actually mileage runs in J - class (discounted business class based on economy fare) racking up 16000 miles to help me get FTL status on LH. Without the mileage runs, I 'd see about 30000 award miles expire early next year, so I had to do something

The trip to JFK was already booked earlier this year... :D

Update:

Completed:
January:
Dakar - Bamako - Conakry - Dakar (Compagnie Aerienne du Mali)
February
Dakar - Bamako - Dakar (Air Senegal)
March
Dakar - Conakry - Abidjan - Dakar (Air Ivoire, flying an old 737 of JAT... very shaky and unsafe I believe), return flight was in their new A321.. a lot better. (although the seats were horrible).
May
Dakar - Brussels - London (Brussels Airlines)
London - Dubai - London - Brussels (British Airways) .. very good! Their long haul product is a lot better than Brussels airlines I must say. I didn't know it would be such a difference.
June
Brussels - Dakar (Brussels Airlines)
July
Dakar - Lisbon - London (TAP Portugal)
London - Brussels (EUROSTAR)
Brussels - Lisbon - Dakar (TAP Portugal).

August/September:
Dakar - Brussels - Dakar (Brussels Airlines)

October:
Dakar - Nouackchott - Dakar (Air Mauritanie)

December (to be booked)
Dakar - Bamako - Dakar

So a lot of flying, but accrueing miles goes horribly slow ... 'sigh'. I have 17000 miles with COa, 17000 with UAL and 12000 with SN, all are in star alliance now but I cannot get them on the same card....
