This week British Airways has taken delivery of its first Boeing 777-300, which will be the longest aircraft in its fleet.

The airline has six on order and the plane will be used to fly to a number of long-haul destinations including Dubai, Chicago and Mumbai when it goes into service later this year.

It will also be fitted out with a completely new interior incorporating an upgraded entertainment system in all cabins.

Not sure about the longest range (the 777-200LR has a longer range, but BA has only the 777-200ER), but the longest aircraft certainly: only the A340-600 is longer, and BA doesn't have it.

British Airways’ 1st Boeing 777-300ER aircraft has entered operation on 31AUG10.

The 777-300ER’s 1st service was London Heathrow to Mumbai, BA139.

It flew right over Belgium yesterday - routeing FERDI - BUPAL. Just a shame that it was cloudy at the time but I guess it will be a regular feature, back and forth.
