Hellow
Nice pics! A little different as usual. On those days i'm genarally also contrailspotting.
Ever seen a Corendon 737 cruising 3000ft? Must be easy recognizeble too , since it stands at really large format on the belly.
I don't know whetter you see it good , but if you look under the belly there is written 'CORENDON' in really big letters.

In my garden I can see planes @ 30000ft and 3000ft cause I'm close to 25R. Never saw the Corodon @ 30000ft, but I'm still waiting to see more decent summer days to watch the contrails. They will come... perhaps next year 8) .Tommypilot wrote:CRZ at 3000 feet? No, never seen yet...Bruspotter wrote:Ever seen a Corendon 737 cruising 3000ft?
Nice when you can enjoy spotting also in your garden...

There is a "small" difference between cruising and approachingBruspotter wrote:Although sometimes I see some US , UK or Scandinavia Inbound planes at 3000-5000ft approaching for BRU.
I only see the Asian-bound traffic (mostly from LHR,...) over my house.
And off course some take offs at +/- FL060 above my house when 25R is in use.

Contrail shots are of every season, but in summer you have 16 hours of light, in winter 8 hours. Btw good light conditions occur also in summer, in the period of 4-5 hours after/before sunrise/sunset, giving 8-10 hour window a day. When not to hot, radiation is reasonable low, so in between chances are also sometimes pretty good.Jense wrote:The period of contrails isn't the summer, but the winter! Much brighter sky and better light-conditions, contrails from about FL250...
Agree that contrails lower in winter, but than the sport is to capture the cruising planes without a contrail.
Summer means normally sunshine & blue sky, winter mostly grey. But anno 2005 this seems not to work .

As regular "spotter" I do prefer winter lightning conditions.Skystef wrote:Summer means normally sunshine & blue sky, winter mostly grey. But anno 2005 this seems not to work .
Its not always the "blue" sky that counts but the quality of the air: in the summer more polutions then in the winter by the heat of several causes.
But off course also polutions in the winter occur.
The eveninglight and morninglight is longer in the summer but I prefer to have them in the winter.
Off course everyone has her/his opion about this.
I am not complaining at all, at least when its dry, its ok for me!

Skystef,
sorry for the late reply but took a one week break.
Just got back this evening.
The Emirates B773 you saw on August 18 was either UAE001 to LHR (A6-EBB that day) or else UAE015 to LGW (A6-EBD that day) so a bit of bad luck as both of them were of the new series...
Regarding the Sabena billboard: I'm afraid time has faded my memory a bit. I thought they really had bigger titles but after checking a picture of a DC.6 of my friend's collection...
At least they had it!
I'll send one over to you, you may post it if you want...
