Hello
I allow myself to intervene. We're all spotters and we want to have the best plane. Today the A346 gave us a great blow to go on the 25L. Unfortunately everyone was on the 25R! If you knew it was going to go on the 25L car you had time to go in the fields why not share it with everyone? We are disappointed not to have had it ..

Hi
I had never written on this forum but the time has come. We know very well that people have access to BRU or LGG flight plans. And so much the better for them. On the forum people publish them for all and inform us about special events .. And sometimes I find that there are limits so yes you are right he surely knew that he was going in 25L but he did not want to share it and he does what he wants. People prefer to have a bit of scarcity only for themselves and too bad.I don't criticize anyone I just reflect the truth unfortunately people prefer to keep things to themselves.

I see your disappointment, too many times I stood at the wrong rwy... today I was lucky, since I saw on ADS-B Tracker that the SAA had established itself on the flypath to 25L - however, I was still on my way to the airport and was driving, hence no time or hand to type... I arrived just in time to see the A346 coming in and had barely enough time to fetch my camera.

I guess this rwy choice took most of us by surprise, quite everyone (myself included) would have bet any sum on 25R...
Best regards,
Viktor

And we at aviation24.be are happy that someone was at the right runway at the right time, no matter for which reason, and able to make and share a picture with us for the benefit of all.

Yes, correct !

As a spotter with some experience, i would like to share a few things.

First, as for the runway used by this aircraft, it could have been an educated guess. Runway choice may have been dictated by this particular aircraft type (restricted taxiways, apron destination, ... or whatever other reason), on the other hand, it could also have been a last minute change.
Sharing is a personal decision. Maybe this photographer was rushing to 25L, judging it was too late to release information (allowing a safe move to people in 25R). Maybe not. We don't know, so do not speculate. Do not fall in a conspiracy trap ...
Edit ; after having a look on flickr, (not one but) numerous experienced photographers were there.

However, there are several ways to anticipate such situation. One is to use a (radio) scanner with caution, of course. You would have been alerted well before touch down.

There was a time, such forum were not blessed with daily posts of expected movments. A time we were not enjoying live FR24 in the fields. So i am reading the forum daily, knowing i won't be able to photograph them.
There are a few places in Europe with better informations for spotters, and many places you won't read a single expectation.

This forum is very good ! Thanks to all contributors !!!
Please be thankful for people taking time to publish. Do not fall in the complaining trap that will discourage them to do it again (i have seen so much posters here and there giving up).

I do not live close to the airport. I would have been soooo happy to be around today ... I do visit BRU 2-3 times per year and enjoy each day very much. I have in mind my journey can unexpectedly and quickly be ruined ... Most of the time, i am back home with a large smile. Living relatively close to the airport is a chance (iso having to drive 100+ km to reach the nearest place of interest).

To conclude, it is frustrating to miss an interesting aircraft. But aircraft photography is a frustrating hobby ! With experience, you will know you can't have them all !

So, let's live our hobby on the positive side : Let's share, let's read, let's educate ourself. Enjoy ! And let's meet soon ... ;-)

Looks like some people did not get enough sunshine this week. Guys, instead of complaining keep in mind that while you were enjoying the sunny day at the airport some others were at work.

Hello

Yes I realize the more that it sucks to miss this one (trust me had it many times before).
As myself it would have been a more educated guess indeed to choose for 25L and if needed to move on to 25R rather then the other way around, purely by aircraft stand (322). However I'd suspect if anyone around with access to flightplans might have seen that too (? not in sure in fact ?).
But it stayed open to speculation, had it been I'd posted 'possible' 25L and in the end turned out to be 25R or even 19 (perfectly possible) the row would have been the same so yeah ... what can I say...?

There would have been only one way to be sure to catch him and that's to be ready in the car and listen out ******* (not even mentioning that here for a second). If i'd been 25R and hurrying to 25L I'd told you guys but as it happens to be I was already at 25L. That being said, driving around with strangers in the back is not the best idea either in corona times or you had a lift ,but ... I guess that's for later times. Anyway wish all of you better luck next time surely. It might not be the only one in the coming months this one will appear but only time will tell.
(Beware of possible towing from 322 to cargo apron or 600 stands for loading although not sure yet).

(variation on the 25L shot from my side ;) )

Hello,

little incident on the A346 which was narrowly avoided! During takeoff, the crew had miscalculated the weight of the aircraft during takeoff and the stall was narrowly avoided! Fortunately, the computer systems of the A346 are efficient and we correct that !!

90 tons.. that’s not a small mistake. Thinking back to the Etihad tail scrape in Melbourne a few years back I think the mistake they made was writing 230 instead of 320 tons? Something similar might have happened here.

Not reporting it until 3 weeks after is unforgivable though.
