OOSSF - I'm wondering why the FC Brugge football team had to travel to Kiev from OST instead of BRU ! They could have taken a bus or whatever to go to Brussels ! No ?

Ostend is the usual gateway for Club Brugge and KAA Gent. After all it’s called Ostend-Bruges International Airport. If you’re chartering a jet, might as well choose the airport closest to you and let the airline deal with positioning the aircraft.

One might question the ecological footprint of the extra empty sectors, but I remember Club Brugge travelling by bus for their away game in Dortmund, while Dortmund opted for a 30-minute flight, with an empty sector on both sides. On top of that, the Brussels Airlines aircraft stayed in Kiev, while the Eurowings Airbus Dortmund used flew up and down to Germany in between.

Eurocontrol just released a study showing the long-haul flights, not the short-haul ones were responsible for the highest aviation CO2 emissions:

OO-SSF operating as SN1154 is announced as Cancelled on FR24. Same on Flightstats.com.
However Ostend puts it as Scheduled, arriving at 23:40.

The flight was planned to leave KBP on 19FEB at 00:30. Could it be that by bringing the return flight forward, i.e. leaving on 18FEB makes it to be considered as Cancelled?
No fun to find Hotac for all at the last minute so let's hope they do fly tonight.

The plane has somehow to come back from Kiev, with or without passengers. It is scheduled to fly to Copenhagen from Brussels on 20 Feb.
