Just saw a heavy twin approaching 25R, which is rather unusual. My best bet is that it was an Ethiopian Cargo B777, which is mentioned on FR24 as going to Liège. Diversion?

It’s not really that unusual. Quite a few ETH Cargo flights pass through BRU on a daily basis, together with Qatar Cargo (A33F,B77F) and Emirates (B77F) less frequently.
Also, don’t forget the B76Fs and A300Fs of DHL.
I do think the flight was planned for BRU, though. FR24 doesn’t always keep up with flight numbers, especially with companies who like to rotate them around...

Quite a few ETH Cargo flights pss through BRU on a daily basis
I did not say heavy twins are unusual on 25R - I said it is unusual for me to observe them :) In fact there will surely be many more but don't most of them fly at night?

(and, on a side note but still, my language/spelling penchant must be legendary I guess) : do check your spelling, you've no idea how many times I have wished to p[a|e|i|o|u|y]ss through Brussels

Edited ;-)
ETH, UAE and QTR (together with SQC and CKS) are pretty much always daytime flights.
Well, most of them are. Cargo flights, and certain operators, are notorious for their lack of punctuality.
Most of DHL’s flights are nighttime arrivals and departures, but they do have a few daytime flights as well.

If you want to go on about grammar/spelling: you original statement did not state clearly whether you meant it one way or another, it could be taken either way. ;-)
