OST 29/12/2013 -- Possible DC-8?

Post by KriVa »

Apparently, a DC-8 should visit Ostend tonight.
I am not 100% sure on the credibility of the source, but it should be an awesome chance to catch a DC-8 on Belgian soil if true.

Why do airlines revive such old crap instead of more modern aircraft also available in the Mojave?

Well, because they like them. :D . Also these DC-8's seem to be the only combi-planes in their fleet.
Carrying Cargo and also possibility for 32 PAX; see link.

Could this be a horse charter, maybe? Horses, jockey's ,vets and logistic staff travelling together on one plane? 8-)

Grtz.

An article on ATI's DC8 Combis was featured in "Airliner World" for March 2013, with pictures of N799AL (on an enthusiasts trip Los Angeles-Sacramento).
At that moment (May 2012), six others such DC8 were parked in the Mojave desert.
IF IT AIN'T BOEING, I'M NOT GOING.
