Tour de France 2010

Post by SilverJET »

I just saw this Zeppelin flying over Kontich (Antwerp). I made a quick shot and edit for this website.

Hi,

Someone an idea about where the 9 French Tour-accompanying helicopters headed / landed /nightstop (as they're NOT at Grimbergen)??

Thanks for an answer!

I do not want to spoil your day, but that is not a zeppelin. It is a blimp, or non-rigid airship, an airship without an internal supporting framework or keel. To say it in short: a zeppelin has a skeleton, this one not.

Why does it say "zeppelin" on its tail then?
Isn't this the real zeppelin with the goodyear titles on it that came to Grimbergen last month?

And the Blimp/Zeppelin/Big Balloon (whatever you call it ;) ) with Goodyear titles was above the "Ring" of Brussels 20 minutes ago (near the Exit to Wemmel), standing gently in the air. For once I wished there were the usual traffic jams to have a longer look at it, but it's holiday time...

Because they call it a Zeppelin NT ("Neue Technologie", German for new technology) manufactured since the 1990s by the German company Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik GmbH . I know, all a bit confusing.
