So will this be bringing some news about SN or LH or both or will it at least be some kind of test so that LH feels better about using BRU as a family alternate in case the A380 needs to land here rather than at FRA?
I'm hoping on some nice shots people!

I wonder why the show... Complete take-over announcement, fleet expansion, fleet replacement, new destinations, new partnership... Place your bets please.
Re: LH AIRBUS A380 @ BRU/EBBR
As 25R is the longest/widest/strongest runway and the closest to the DHL parking stands as suggested in some earlier posts i think weather permitting it will probably be 25Rluchtzak wrote:Which runway will be expected ? 25 L ?
Re: BRU 08/06/2010
I can add:
Code: Select all
STA 13.00 JAF511T B738 OOJAA (after test flight)
STA 17.45 DLH8928 A388 DAIMA
Re: LH AIRBUS A380 @ BRU/EBBR
AFAIK it is only a pure "test flight" to see if BRU can be used as an alternate airport for diversion. But you never knows what will happen, apparently there is press on board, so I assume there is some kind of an announcement... While it is fun to see a A388 land at BRU I don't think the press would cover it or at least fly with it for that purpose.Megaman wrote:I wonder why the show... I hope I can pop over there to see the big bird in real, live, close by. I have to work during the vissit of this magnificent plane.
Re: BRU 08/06/2010 - Lufthansa Airbus A380
Just a test flight? I would expect something bigger if both CEO's are onboard and are carrying a whole bunch of press people around... Only one day to wait to find out...
Re: BRU 08/06/2010 - Lufthansa Airbus A380
There could be announcements or it could be just the celebration of SN's 5th A333 and the beginning of the new African routes.
Shareholders, please surprise us with an A332 order at Berlin or Farnborough.

Hi,
She will land on 25R, receive a water salute at the end of 25R and taxi to stand 690, where she will be visited by the press and some bigshots from SN and LH.

Lamal

I got the same information (weather conditions allowing, of course) from Brussels Airport Communications Dept. The A380 will use the full length of Rwy 25R. The best spotting place will be at the end of that Rwy 25R.Lamal wrote:She will land on 25R, receive a water salute at the end of 25R and taxi to stand 690, where she will be visited by the press and some bigshots from SN and LH.
In addition, take-off will also be from 25R.
Spotters are asked not to park on the road near the end of R25. There will be no parking available. Ideally they can come by public transport (e.g. by train). There are free busses of De Lijn from the airport to the end of Rwy 25R every minute. They can also park at the Airport parking lots and continue with De Lijn.
Let it be a nice celebretaion for everybody!

Nice, on 25R I don't even have to pop over, I just have to go outside and watch the beauty come in and leave.
Now I know again why I work there

I guess this is just some wish from your side so you can park your car nicely overthere ? If this would be official Brussels Airport communication aimed to reach the spotters and a large bunch of spectators who will be present, then this request would be at least published on their website and spread around by the media, right ?sn26567 wrote:Spotters are asked not to park on the road near the end of R25. It's also mentioned on HLN.be (in Dutch):sn_rj85 wrote:I guess this is just some wish from your side so you can park your car nicely overthere ?

And also on Twitter, although that's not known widely
Re: BRU 08/06/2010 - Lufthansa Airbus A380
If the underline is true, it could be a Lufthansa A350 order as well...NCB wrote:There could be announcements or it could be just the celebration of SN's 5th A333 and the beginning of the new African routes.

Re: BRU 08/06/2010 - Lufthansa Airbus A380
Hello
So guys suggest the best place would be at the B-line parking at the end of RWY25R/RWY07L?
Would be fine for me I only fear for it it would not take the very last taxiway near the firegate at the end of that runway.
I also don't know about the heathaze, maybe I go for sure and go for the 'high approach' shots at the RWY 25R approach, but don't know for sure, all will depend on the time I still have free tomorrow before I leave to BRU.
Regards, Yannick
