Any idea of route of trucks and barges? I'd love to photograph them on passage, hope it will be on barge on the canal Charleroi-Brussels-Willebroek.
Re: Mil mi26's gone at Charleroi
Sorry , no idea , but the russian mechanic who is preparing them for the trip is a real nice guy and will allow you to go in and have a look at them - take photos etc . Don't know how long more they will be there .

Re: Mil mi26's gone at Charleroi
i'm a bit off topic, but last week i had the chance to visit an IL76 of Volga-Dniepr....what a beautiful piece of technology, really amazing ....went in the navigator seat downstairs, that should be really fun to fly on this seat....

Belgian newspaper METRO today has a photo of one being trucked to Amay. I found this on the river Meuse, so apparently it will be barged to Liège and then either along the Meuse towards Holland, or to Antwerp via the Albert-canal.
Re: Mil mi26's gone at Charleroi
According to a news article in the newspaper "de morgen", the helicopters from Liege and Charleroi will go to the harbour of Zeebrugge.

Video from Liège :

From what they say, it should go by the Meuse river and the Albert canal to Antwerp and from there, to russia.

Re: Mil mi26's gone at Charleroi
Hello
Great! The Albert Channel! They will pass close to my home then. Does anyone knows when they really start of the 'leg' on the Albert Channel so I can estimate how many (boat hours) I have to count untill they are here. I would love to see them pass on a boat in my neighbourhod.
Thx and Best regards, Yannick

They will be shipped from the port of Brugge. (Not Zeebrugge)

Aerobel, can you say where exactly in Brugge harbour the 'Congolese' Mi-26 was offloaded, and where it went to on the truck? Nice set of photos btw.
Does anyone know where it is now?
The two Skytech Mi26 helicopters RA-06032 & RA-06041 that had been reported outside the fence at Charleroi were still there this afternoon. Pictures in my gallery:

I spoke to the Belgian person present and he said they would move Wednesday or Thursday, later I asked one of the 2 Russian technicians and he said they would leave tomorrow at 9am by trailer (I assume it will go by barge as well, although he didn't say it).
I suppose this means they will start to load the first helo on a trailer at 9, if they use the same trailer then obviously the 2nd helo will be at CRL longer. The transport will go to Antwerp according to the technician (but since he is Russian he may have mixed up our ports?).
From there they will be shipped to Rostov for rework, apparently they are expected to return to Skytech later on.
Does anyone have more precise information on where & when they will move?

At about 17h local time I was really surprised to see the RA-06041 Mi26 at Bruges between the 'Kathelijnepoort' and 'Gentpoort'. Here are some pictures taken with my mobile cell phone. Not great picture quality but in my opinion just a magnificent sight.

I have just checked with the operator of the Albertkanaal, the ship with RA-06032 onboard will reach Antwerp around 2000 today (roughly) after it was spotted in Hasselt this afternoon.
