yes

20-1101 B744 should arrive 1100lt from Berlin 11Jan and depart 1500lt to Paris, in addition a JAL B744 is flying as back up (as the 2nd JASDF is on mx right now)

Hello

Great plane that JASDF B747-400. Must be great to see.

Unfortunatly it is ALWAYS at a school/working day and ALWAYS during the morning or noon when you CAN'T possibly go. :(

Best regards: Yannick ;)

So if they do the same, I think they will land on 25R as I presume 20 kts SW wind isn't a problem for these runways.

I asked on Scramble (in a topic regarding the visit of Mr. Abe to several european cities) if the reg of the JAL 744 accompanying 20-1101 was known already, and got this info :

"I wonder where this info comes from, but...
the JAL 744 is just a substitute a/c and will only fly in case of mechanical troubles. The JAL 744 is still in Japan and will not fly unless really neccesary.

Because we don't expect troubles on our well maintained 20-1101, don't expect the JAL to come. This standby a/c will carry a JL88xx flightnumer in case it's needs to fly."

So my question : is there any flightplan filed already for the JAL 744 ? Or is it just a wild guess and are the given eta/etd not yet confirmed ?

Thanks in advance, Robin Bamps.

The final answer is quite simple: the JAL 744 doesn't come.

Robin,

a flightplan usually gets filed a couple of hours before departure. For (V)VIP aircraft this can be even later.

20-1101 currently heading to Brussels, looks like an on time arrival. HEX 87C000.

Thanks Bavo  Picture isn't good but what do you want in that kind of weather... And better this than nothing at all (there were about 10 spotters present including myself).

Thats really brave of you Robin and Vonsmalhausen, to go out spotting with your expensive equipment in stormy weather like this.

Nice pics both of you, despite the weather
