@Airbuske:

Regarding your American Airlines log, a small remark:

JFK-BRU AA172 instead of AA170
BRU-JFK AA171

When I look at the departure times, it seems both flights had a delay app. 30 minutes... Was it bad weather or dense traffic then?

Thanks for the remark.

I can't tell you the reason of the delay because I can't find that in my ACARS log.

I think young Stevie made a small mistake.
AA7757 is probably an SN-flight with AA codesharing as AA7757.

Indeed flight AA7757 was operated by SN Brussels Airlines as flight SN3850 CMN - BRU.

OO-SSK Airbus A319
SN3850 CMN-BRU SN Brussels Airlines

@OO-JFP and airbuske:

The only AA flights where AA is the operating carrier are those between BRU-JFK and BRU-ORD.

All other flights between BRU-Europe and BRU-Africa are codeshare with SN Brussels Airlines and oneworld partners; whereof British Airways is operating carrier on the flights between BRU-LHR.

If you would have any other AA-question, just ask me :)

The time ACARS mentiones is the time on which the flight is logged by the ACARS server.

Hi Robin,

My apologies for this (possibly) stupid question, but what is the ACARS server?

According to my knowledge and to our system, the departure time of the JFK flight is 10.05am and ORD is 10.50am.

Just wondering...

The time logged is not the departure time at the airport. If, for example, an ACARS signal of the plane is captured while overflying Ghent, ACARS shows the time it received the signal.

So except for if you live very near to the airport, the time mentioned by ACARS will be different from the actual arrival/departure time at the airport. Also, for example, if a Belgian ACARS user catches flight TK 001 IST-JFK, ACARS will not show the departure time at IST nor the arrival time at JFK but the time at which the signal is picked up, f.e. on the airways above Brussels.

Hope this helps,

Robin Bamps.

Hi Robin,

Thank you for your answer. It's a clear explanation! I didn't know about the existance of this ACARS-server.

So regarding the AA-flights: they could have departed on time in BRU then, depending on the distance in time between GHE and BRU, right?

Regards,

fostro.

Yes, that's possible.

You can scan through the logs of online ACARS servers via http://www.acarsd.org/fleetlist.htm
