Airline Magazines

Post by Advisor »

Airlines often provide more than simply a flight to get you where you need to go. Many airlines produce inflight magazines, there to give you details about their fleet, or inflight entertainment, sometimes articles about places they travel to, or other diversions.

I am starting a new topic for people to contribute the name of the inflight magazine:

Please post your responses with the name of the Airline - Magazine name.

AirIndia - Namaskar.

Indian Airlines - Swagat.

Jet Airways - Jetwings.

Air Deccan - Simplify.

U.S. Airways’s - Attaché.

Sabena's Passport was better than SNBA's Connect. I still have my two copies.

In the past it was called Sabena Magazine. I still have an issue on Greece dated 1957. Yes, I know, I'm getting old... :)

You're not getting old Andre

Some people might pay out for those magazines from a defunct airline. I would imagine they could be quite collectable.

I prefer the Sabena one to the SN Brussels one because there was more in it and you could have a laugh at the weird puzzles.

Here is another for the list - Icelandair had one called Atlantica when I used to fly with them. Although I had several flights with Air New Zealand I just cannot remember the name of their magazine :(

Another thing about Connect is that it does not contain a fleet profile like many in flight magazines do, and this is something I like to read to get more details of the aircraft I am flying in.

Atlantica from Spring 1988.

Sabena's Passport from September 2001. Probably the penultimate issue of this magazine?

VLM Vision from Spring/Summer 2002.

VLM Xpression from Spring/Summer 2003.

I don't have Velocity but I believe it is around 100 pages thick, quite good for a VLM magazine.

SNBA Connect from 3rd November 2004.

Connect from 31st March 2004, photo taken on my first ever SNBA flight, SN2038 between BHX (Birmingham) and Brussels.

How did you get that 1957 magazine? I thought you said in one report you had your first flight in 1961?
