Both runways 25L/R seem open, only delay is de-icing I suppose.

That's quite some good news. It's more snow than last time and they handle it much better.

They had cried wolf for not much actually.
Let's wait and see ...
They sold again the wolf story i'm affraid...
That makes more advertising revenue for the press of course.
As far as the meteo is concerned, the outcome was as expected. Forecasts by the Belgian weather services were quite accurate. The blow up by the Flemish media is as always way too exaggerated.

Accurate i'm not sure : they said between 6 and 10 cm on the whole country, and the result is barely 4cm in Brussels and nothing (not even one snow flake) in Liège. They exaggerate quite a bit ... but I guess we can't blame them too much ...

Just checked in my garden, just north of Brussels. 10 cm of snow it is!

My flight to BHX of 9 o'clock this morning was cancelled: I got a textmessage to inform me I was automatically rebooked onto the next flight of 11 o'clock, but given the weather in the UK, I decided to cancel my trip. I will try again later this week, or next week instead.

Are you sure it's due to the weather? The flight doesn't even appear on the BRU website.

Are you able to rebook free of charge under such conditions?

Very few flights were cancelled in BRU: apart from the 2 KLM flights mentioned earlier, it seems that only a SN flight to LYS, another one to CPH and one to BUD were cancelled.

No much disruption at Charleroi today, it seems; not heard of delays on the PA; my flight to Budapest was right on time, and same for the return.
What about your flight to STN from EIN, Cathay ?
IF IT AIN'T BOEING, I'M NOT GOING.

Well, there certainly was a lot of snow at the airport. The snow clearing crews did a great job keeping the airport running.

Why not?

We always fly in Flex for work, especially because it allows for such changes or even cancelations free of charge. Will be going to BHX on Thursday instead and no, it was no problem to do this change to my ticket.

Night 19-20/01/2013 (one week later): Moderate to heavy snowfall is expected overnight in Brussels with negative ground temperatures. Flights may be delayed due to de-icing and snow-clearing operations.
