You are right...ID Plug aka prog plug....gives information to the fadec like as you mentionned but also N1 trim, egt red line, bump(if available) ,thrust rating,... installed on top of the Electronic control unit(one of the most expensive part of the engine)....always attached to the engine by a little chain...because the id plug always stay with the engine, even in case of ECU/EEC replacement.

Yes it s the steering disconnection box, the mechanic's puts the lever vertically to disconnect hydraulically the steering, both sides to the return lines.then he places the pin to lock the lever.
That's also the pin shown by the mechanics to the captain when the A/C is about to leave....
You are right, it is of course a MLG....but the brakes are not removed....the thing is that they are not installed......aalso there's something very unusual that you can find, only on this particular A/C.
