I think so.......the a319 can land in Tibet or whereever it is with Druk Air, so I assume that the A318 can/will be able to do LCY

Druk Air is from Bhutan, not Tibet.

Airbus tries to get a steeper approach certofoed for the A318 (5 degrees) to be able to land in LCY. For this reason the painted a runway the size of LCY in Tolouse on the normal RWY.

What's the length of London City in comparison to the max length required for an A318 to land safely?

Wow, amazing! I like the pictures of the plane landing and rowers on the Thames being amazed at the unusual site.
I take it this will be a great opportunity to further expand LCY and increase it's flights but is there really that much demand.
I have flown there last year and it appears planes are never full though most passengers pay business class seats.

I'm not very superised that he made it. The cocktail weener isn't a very big airplane anyway. The pictures are spectaculer tough.

I call the A318 cocktail weener because it's so short.

Thats not the Thames.....rowing on the Thames is not fun at all. I have done it, and it is an open sewer.

Well, a test flight is one thing - getting a certification for pax ops is different.

Any source for this? Why would it be harder to land than an A319, A320 or A321?
Even if pilots did find it hard to land her, why don't they let the computer land her...

I've just realised: that was Poplar regatta. Although I wasn't there, the boat in the pic of the jet landing looks very like the 1st IV.
