Hello! I just have discovered this place for new members. I began being
interested in connection with websites.
Some months ago I opened www.air.cat about the airports of Barcelona, Perpignan, Girona, Reus, Valencia, Majorca, etc.

Playing with words AIR CAT IS CAT AIR so that the blog for the users
of these airports became www.catair.cat.

Currently in www.catair.cat I give a lot of information about the new low-cost of Iberia - the commercial name is not known yet.

I love English so that I translate Spanish news about the Iberia low-cost
into English.

My idea is to create an unofficial site of fans of the new low-cost.

By the way; I like CATAIR pronounced in French, Spanish or Catalan.
In English sounds strange to me ...

I am very happy of the existence of the low-cost companies.
Thanks to Easyjet and Ryanair I had known the glenns of Scotland ...

Welcome to Luchtzak, catair. It is interesting to have a member from that part of the world to report on what's happening in Catalonia and Spain.

Thank you André.

The truth is that it is quite interesting to follow the situation of aviation here.
Here in Barcelona most days the main page of the Economy section
of newspapers is related to Catair or the airport of El Prat.

I like a lot London and I always thought that they were very lucky because
there are a lot of flights from London airports.

So that when I heard about a new LLC with headquarters in Barcelona I was quite thrilled.

Catair (everybody calls the company that way because the commercial
name has not be decided yet) will fly from Barcelona to Moscow so that Europe
will be united at affordable prices (I hope)

As I run the blog catair.cat mostly about the new Catair I have to keep up to date
each day about what is going on.

And I find funny things...

For example now when you put the word catair in google search you
have sponsored links with the word Catair!

The links go to pages about flights but it is obvious that you cannot buy any Catair flight yet!

But I imagine www.ClickAir.Com (would that be the commercial name??) won't wait until October to begin selling October flights!

It seems you have less interest for general aviation, even so may I suggest you keep us posted about the situation of Sabadell airfield? It is very hard to find any info in English about the evolution there.

Thank You for all the encoraugement about making an unoffical fan site for
the new Catair.
Next week, FINALLY, the commercial name of Catair will be unveiled.
I hope I like it so much as I like the name of Catair.

About the Airport of Sabadell what I know right now (just from www.aena.es - Aena handles the Spanish airports, it is public and generates controversy...) is that it is an airport used mostly to teach new pilots. (75% of activity)
The rest of activity is for publicity flights ( I imagine this means that here is the place where the small typical planes which border the costa brava and costa daurada with ads take off), photo flights, aerotaxi, private flights and institutional flights and services.

It works as VFR (visual conditions)

These last years there had been some accidents as the airport seems to
be close to populated zones. So I think they want to change its location.

I was at Sabadell last october, the aerodrome was closed at that time following a crash. A training plane had collided with a building crane, erected without permission on the runway axis. That is to say, if I understood the Spanish info correctly - my control of Spanish is poor, and my Catalàn inexistant... So I was wondering if the aerodrome has reopened since (I sincerely hope so, it was a very nice place when I came there, lots of training going on indeed though only on the ground...) and, if so, since when.
